2020 New Jersey July 4th Events, Fireworks, Parades, AND More

Posted on: June 17th, 2020 by

There will be fireworks in New Jersey on July 4th.

With the Governor’s announcement on Saturday, June 13, 2020, towns have been given the green light to have fireworks this July 4th, so long as they follow the restrictions for outdoor gatherings and events.

Current limits on New Jersey outdoor events

  • Legal New Jersey events with fireworks and other outdoor special events are limited to 100 people.
  • The limit of New Jersey outdoor events may increase to 250 people on June 22.
  • On July 3, crowds may be allowed to go as large as 500 people for outdoor events in New Jersey.

One more thing about New Jersey Fireworks on July 4th.

Yes, the majority of New Jersey towns cancelled their July 4th fireworks, but don’t lose all hope. Some New Jersey communities will have their fireworks in September instead. I’m thinking maybe Labor Day. Wouldn’t it be awesome to end the summer with fireworks and the return of more activities opening in New Jersey…. like schools?

We’ve originally published this list of New Jersey July 4th events back in 2010 and continue to update it every year as soon as schedules start becoming available. We republish it several times each year in order to resend it to our newsletter subscribers.

With less than 3 weeks till July 4th towns will need to scramble to put together this year’s firework shows. Many had already cancelled them. The governor may have made his announcement this past Saturday, but towns will need a few days to determine if they can pull it off this year. We encourage you to visit this page often as we run town by town to see where in New Jersey you can see fireworks this year.
