Ridgefield Park July 4th Parades and Celebration 2023

The Village of Ridgefield Park is the quintessential All American Town. For the last 129 years, the Village, rooted in family and community, has celebrated the country’s birthday. The Fourth of July is their longest and deepest tradition.
The Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Parade and Celebration, founded in 1894 is one of the oldest parades in the United States, and the oldest in New Jersey. The Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Citizens Committee prepares for the day’s events months ahead of time. Many organizations, schools, churches and families also plan for the day’s activities. Invitations are sent to organizations in and outside the community to participate. Emergency Service Units prepare for every possible occurrence so that residents and visitors to the Village can relax and enjoy the day. The Mayor and Commissioners welcome all to the Village for these events. During the weekend, decorated homes and businesses are judged and prizes awarded.

- Reading of the Declaration of Independence
- Flag raising ceremony
- Baby and Youth Parade
- Main Civic Parade
Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Parade Route
- The Baby and Youth Parade begins at 9:00am and is at Poplar Street and Euclid Avenue. This parade consists of village and visiting children, who walk, ride in decorated carriages, elaborate floats, or personally decorated bicycles. You will see red, white, blue and lots of patriotism on this day. Prizes are awarded and a grand time is had by all.
- The Main Civic Parade steps off promptly at 11:30 at Preston Street and Hudson Avenue.
Entertainment Schedule
- 7:30am: Declaration of Independence Reading at Memorial Plaza
- 7:45am: Flag raising ceremony by the Boy and Girl Scouts
- 9:00am: Baby and Youth Parade
- 11:30am: Main Civic Parade
