Where is Gardner Field located?
The playground is located at 2 Savage Road in Denville, New Jersey. It’s located at the intersection of Route 46 and Savage Road. The park is part of the Denville park system.
What kind of playground equipment does Gardner Field have?
There are two main playground structures, one on each side as you enter the fenced-in playground. There are slides, swings, monkey bars, and more.
Are there swings?
There are three swing structures. One structure has 3 baby swings and 1 accessible swing.
A second structure has 3 traditional swings and 1 accessible swing.
A third swing structure has a circular netting swing.
Are there slides?
Both playground structures have slides. The structure on the left side of the playground has a tall slightly curvy slide.
The playground on the right side has a shorter curvy slide and a side-by-side slide.
The large web structure in the back of the playground has 2 tunnel slides. One is straight and one twists.
What special features does the playground offer?
There are a few special features kids will love. The first and most epic is this VERY tall climbing web with 2 slides. It’s toward the back of the playground and will either scare your child or challenge them to climb to new heights.
If heights aren’t your child’s thing there is a small spinning web and a twisty curvy web. Both are at the front of the playground on opposite sides.
There are 2 zip lines and a boogie board.
And if that isn’t enough there are rope ladders, climbing walls, bridges, sensory play areas, and more.
What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The ground cover has sections with wood mulch and sections with colorful rubber padding.
Is the playground at Gardner Field accessible?
There was no ramp onto the equipment, but there were two accessible swings.
Towards the back area of the playground, past the gazebo, is a musical instrument play area that was at the ground level and accessible.
Is there shade available at Gardner Field playground?
Shade is available on some areas of the playground equipment like this log cabin feature built into the play area on the right side of the playground.
The gazebo offers shade and benches both along the inside and outside of its sides.
We also found picnic benches under the trees outside of the playground gates.
Where is parking for the Gardner Field playground?
There was a parking lot as we came in off of Savage Road. It looks like there is normally an additional parking lot but it was blocked on our July 1, 2022, visit due to construction work being done on the property.
Are there restrooms at Gardner Field?
We did not see any port-a-potties. There was a building in the parking lot and at the baseball field, but we could not find any signage that indicated there were bathrooms there.
What else is there to do at Gardner Field?
In addition to the playground at Gardner Field, there are additional amenities available for visitors.
Are there walking trails?
There was no walking path we could see.
Are there fields or courts for sports?
There was a football field, baseball field, and open grassy area. It looked like some areas of the property were under construction.

During our July 1, 2022 visit a portion of the property was under construction. It’s possible there are additional amenities that we weren’t able to see from the playground area.
