Growing up in Jersey, you can’t help but hear the question, “What exit…?” Make new friends in college who are also from Jersey, one of the first questions you’ll get is what exit are you? It’s the same when you are an adult and you talk to other Jerseyans. We all seem to relate to each other by exits. It’s a Jersey thing. ;)
In an effort to share with our followers all that is good about Jersey, I am issuing this Parkway, Exit by Exit Challenge. Below, I’ve listed all the exits to our Garden State Parkway. I hope you will join me in my quest to find something fun for families to do at each exit. Already, I’ve added some links below. I’ll add more as I find them. In the meantime, I need your help. What should I add to the list? What do you recommend? Please send me your thoughts and links. (Ideally, I am looking for things located within a few miles of the parkway exit). Include them in the comments below or email them to me at [email protected] Thanks.

love, love, love this idea! Will definitely be back with some suggestions for up North. I'm in Morris County and I just love it here. Rich with historical attractions and state parks.
btw, I'm kind of also doing my own thing to celebrate the many things that are great about the garden state. Check out my Project 365: Really Real New Jersey Challenge

Ok, you might have to double check some of these exits when you add the links, but here are a few: beginning of parkway- Cape May Whale Watcher; exit 90 (I think) Jenkinson's boardwalk, amusement & aquarium, and Jersey Shore Pirates!, exit 38 Atlantic City Aquarium & Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, exit 30 Gillian's Wonderland, exit 145 Turtle Back Zoo, exit 48 Historic Smithville, exit 117 Keansburg Amusement Park, exit 36 Storybook land, exit 105 Monmouth racetrack (we took the kids 1 year, they enjoyed watching the horses & there's a playground too).
