Melanie initially reported on this playground in 2016. We returned on July 1, 2022 to update our pictures and get more details and pictures of this playground.
Where is Warren Municipal Park Playground located?
The Warren Municipal Playground is located at Bardy Road in Warren in Somerset County. Our GPS lead us to the spot using the street address 44 Mountain Boulevard. During the summer the park may be closed at certain times to accommodate recreation campers. The park is part of the Warren Township park system.
What kind of playground equipment does the Warren Municipal Park have?
As we mentioned this is quite a large playground. There is a small structure for preschoolers and toddlers, but what will impress you most is the large tower for the older kids. It goes up 3-4 stories off the ground. Ladders can take kids to the top and slides can bring them back down.
Are there swings?
On the main playground structure there are 2 swing structures. Near the gazebo is 4 traditional swings.
At the other end are 2 accessible swings and 1 tire swing.
At the preschool playground are 2 baby swings.
Are there slides?
There are slides on both the toddler/preschooler playground and the larger structure for older kids. The preschool playground has 3 slides: a side-by-side slide, a curvy slide, and a tunnel slide.
The older kids playground has 5 slides. There is a shorter wide slide that starts at the bottom level.
Then, there are 4 taller slides. Two tunnel slides start at the top (third level) and curve till reaching the bottom.
Two open and slightly wavy slides start at the second level.
What special features does the playground offer?
The larger playground tower provides lots of opportunities to climb. It has a climbing wall, ladders, climbing platforms, monkey bars, and more.
There are long bridges connecting parts of the playground.
Elsewhere on the playground is a high back spinner.
What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The ground cover is wood mulch.
Is the playground at Warren Municipal Park accessible?
There is a ramp onto the main playground structure and wide platforms and pathways. Sensory play areas and activity boards provide opportunities to play on the equipment.
I appreciated that there wasn’t just a board to help others learn sign language but also to learn Braille.
There are 2 accessible swings.
Is there shade available at the Warren Municipal Park Playground?
The lower levels of the playground tower receive shade from the upper levels. There are also canopies to provide shade on the equipment.
There is a pavilion between the preschool playground and the older kids playground. The pavilion does have picnic tables.
At the edge of the playground and before getting to the baseball field there is a gazebo with seating.
Where is parking for the Warren Municipal Park Playground?
The address we used brought us to a small parking lot. We believe if you accessed the playground through the municipal or baseball field entrance there may be additional parking lots.
Are there restrooms at Warren Municipal Park?
There were indoor restrooms located in the building at the pavilion.
Port-a-Potties were also available at the fencing where the parking lot meets the playground entrance.
What else is there to do at Warren Municipal Park?
The playground at Warren Municipal Park is large enough to keep your kids entertained, but there’s more than just that. There are lots of additional amenities available for visitors.
Are there walking trails?
There is a walking path. Take a walk along the creek and see what fish you can find.
Are there fields or courts for sports?
The basketball courts are large and next to the playground, and a tennis court is around the corner. There’s a gaga ball pit in a corner of the park and a baseball field across the grass.

Because your children will be sending a lot of time here, we also love that there are plenty of picnic tables, benches, and even a gazebo! We saw parents who brought their own chairs to relax in while kids played all throughout the playground.
This location is close to stores and eateries and makes for an easy stop to burn off some energy in between errands.
