Under the Moon Cafe – Most Adorable Restaurant – Family Friendly Restaurant Review

Absolutely, positively adorable…. Under the Moon Cafe

Our Weekends in Jersey series took us to the Under the Moon Cafe in Bordentown, New Jersey where I fell in love with the restaurant just walking in the door. Like Crystal (Jersey Family Fun Assistant Editor) said it’s like walking into grandma’s house for a meal.

There is a beautiful assortment of

  • colored & pattern cloth napkins
  • glasses with different designs
  • plates with various flower patterns
  • sewing tables that became tables for two
  • and more.

This isn’t your typical restaurant where every table, plate, napkin all patch perfectly. Instead it’s a random collection of decor and table settings that give the Under the Moon Cafe such a welcoming feeling. I wanted to stay all day.

What makes it even better….the food is fabulous!

I was nervous at first. The meals sounded fancy. There isn’t a kid’s menu. However, the menu does include kid’s favorites like quesadillas, chicken, and meatloaf.  My 4-year-old wanting pasta (again) was able to order a bowl of plain noodles. He was happy, so I was too.

My other boys ordered the quesadillas.  My niece had Joel’s Special and I ordered the Under the Moon Chicken with spinach and cheeses. It was amazing. I’ve never had spinach taste so good. I stuffed myself till every last bite was gone.

Then, you know we moved onto dessert. My boys were eyeing up the dessert case when we first walked in. Two of my boys ordered the Chocolate Mousse Pie, the other the Caramel Cheesecake. I was good… well kind of I couldn’t help but sneak bites from their Chocolate Mousse.
