When you are traveling around the county for soccer and sports you come across a lot of playgrounds. Tony Canale Park Playground in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey is one of those amazing playgrounds that Jenn had seen from the soccer fields, but until 2017 hadn’t taken the chance to play on.
Now in 2022, I (Mason) have returned to the park to get new pictures and details about one of Atlantic County’s biggest playgrounds. There are so many areas to climb up the large playground structure and several slides to slide down.

Tony Canale Park is a fenced-in park that provides a large variety of options for your entertainment. From having young children running around on the playground to veterans being able to enjoy themselves on the tennis courts.
Where is Tony Canale Park Playground located?
Tony Canale Park is located in Egg Harbor Township in Atlantic County on Sycamore Lane off of Dogwood Avenue, at the very back end of the complex. The park is part of the Egg Harbor Township Parks system.

The playground structure feels gigantic without being overwhelming.
Are there swings?
The playground has 4 traditional swings plus 2 baby swings. There are no accessible swings and the tire swing has been removed.
Are there slides?
This Egg Harbor Township playground includes 14 slides! Two sets of 3 side-by-side larger slides all going in different directions, 2 medium double side-by-side slides, 1 medium slide that curves and twists, 1 small but wide slide, 1 small wide slide that curves, and 1 small and narrow slide that curves.
What special features does the playground offer?
The playground includes many fun ways to get up and down from elevated parts of the equipment. There is a tic-tac-toe game on the elevated areas and two sit and spins at the ground level.
Toddlers will enjoy the tot area with ride-on toys that spring back and forth and stepping stools.

What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The ground cover is wood mulch.
Is the playground at Tony Canale Park accessible?
There are no accessible swings at Tony Canale Park. The playground equipment has a wide ramp and platforms, but there is not much for kids, to do once they reach the upper levels, other than go down the slides.
Is there shade available at Tony Canale Park?
The park has a few trees along the perimeter but the playground structure, swings, and toddler area are open with small canopy tops. There are very few areas where it’s shady such as under the playground equipment, at picnic tables under trees, and on the amphitheater stage.
Where is parking for Tony Canale Park?
There are several parking lots throughout the park, one is adjacent to the playground.
Are there restrooms at Tony Canale Park?
The park has port-a-potties and indoor restrooms in a building. The indoor restrooms are occasionally locked.

In addition to the playground at Tony Canale Park, there are additional amenities available for visitors.

There are walking trails that go around the park and into the woods.

There are a multitude of sports courts at Canale Park: 4 tennis courts, 3 volleyball courts in sand, a gaga ball court, a grassy volleyball area, a baseball field, and multiple soccer fields.
Bonus information we want you to know about Tony Canale Park
The playground offers plenty of benches for parents to watch their children play. There is no fee to visit the park.
- The playground area is fenced in. There is only one opening in and out of the playground.
- The toddler section is partially separated from the playground area.
- Make sure to have your wallet! The ice cream truck stops at the park often!
