3 Things to do With Kids at Tropicana Atlantic City During Christmas

In full disclosure, we were given tickets to Tropicana Casino’s Holiday Jubilee Jingle to make this post possible. We appreciate the Tropicana Atlantic City’s support of Jersey Family Fun and our efforts to find family friendly entertainment in Atlantic City. As always, our opinions are our own.

Our readers who have been a part of Jersey Family Fun for years know we have a passion for wanting to promote the family friendly side of Atlantic City. Considering Atlantic City is a short drive from my home and is home to the Atlantic City Aquarium, Absecon Lighthouse, and Lucy the Elephant, I feel strongly about showing families how they to can DO AC. When it comes to Atlantic City hotels, the Tropicana is one of the best for families. While Jersey Family Fun mom, Melanie wrote about her visit to the Tropicana AC with her family a few years ago, I’m happy to share some updates for 2018 based on my most recent visit.

See the twinkling lights on a beautifully decorated 35 foot Christmas tree

Over the last few years, it has been one of our family’s Christmas tradition to visit the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City during the holidays to see their majestic 35-foot Christmas Tree. Tropicana makes the season bright with the official Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Musical Light Show in The Quarter. The free Holiday Musical Light Show features their ornately decorated tree with festive lights synchronized to the sights and sounds of the season. Daily shows are Monday, November 16 through Thursday, December 27, presented every hour on the hour starting at noon and ending at midnight. They are not to be missed.

Over the last few years, it has been one of our family’s Christmas tradition to visit the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City during the holidays to see their majestic 35-foot Christmas Tree. This year we added to our tradition of visiting Atlantic City for Christmas. Recently, we were guests of the Tropicana Casino’s Holiday Jubilee, Jingle playing this month in their showroom.

“Starring eight dancers and two vocalists, Jingle takes a fresh approach to presenting the most beloved holiday music, characters and stories of the season.”

As a mom, who doesn’t want to always drive into either Philadelphia or New York City to see a holiday show, I appreciate having a family friendly holiday show in Atlantic City that is close to home. Tropicana Casino’s holiday show, Jingle offers something for adults and the kids to enjoy. The kids got a big laugh out of see the Jingle dancers do the floss, hype, and other Fortnite dance moves.

About The Tropicana Casino Showroom

The Tropicana Showroom is a Broadway-style theatre with 2,000 seats. My boys and I loved the comfortable plush seats.  For Jingle, the seats were on a first come first serve basis and not assigned by number. We arrived about 30-45 minutes early, heading right in when the doors were open. We didn’t want to leave our seats. So the comfortable seats and videos on the side screens were a great way to keep the kids entertained as we waited for the show. The boys got a kick out of seeing Santa ride by with his reindeer on the screen. (Parents should note that some of the promos on the side screen are for the over 21 night club.)

Tropicana Atlantic City Jingle Holiday Jubilee

Tropicana Casino’s holiday show, Jingle opens with a performer noticing a present on the stage. As he starts to explore that box, one by one out come showgirls dressed for holidays. They start the show with a dance routine. Over the next hour, Jingle is a mix of songs sung by either the male vocalist or female vocalists or a duet, dancing, magic and illusion, and crowd involvement.

One scene from the Tropicana Casino’s Jingle had singing and dancing Christmas trees all decorated differently.

There were funny moments when a member of the crowd were pulled into a skit involving Santa. During another routine the stage was filled with Santas dancing to hip hop music. Later the boys were in awe watching magicians and illusionists, Kevin and Caruso. Their tricks made us believe a showgirl was cut in pieces and another disappeared. But I think their favorite magical moment was seeing how Kevin and Caruso turned one small tissue into a room full of snow.

SNOW!

There was a singalong that we all sang along too.

That audience was encouraged to singalong.

Tropicana Casino’s Jingle grand finale involved more singing and then a launch of paper streamers in the air. What kid doesn’t love that? In fact, we may have seen some adults taking home some of those streamers for souvenirs. Who can blame them? After all the Tropicana holiday show was definitely a show worth remembering. We laughed, we sang, we had a great time.

Take pictures with ALL the photo props!

After watching Tropicana Casino’s Jingle, make sure to walk through the Quarter and corridors for other photo opps. This snowman display makes for a great family photo. Around the lighted Christmas tree are several oversized Christmas ornaments and your kids can take a picture with. There is also a very large red poinsettia Christmas tree in the South Tower on a marbled floor between casino floor sections. It’s in a non-gambling area so children can pass through for pictures.
