Ah – babies. So small, yet so in charge! It’s difficult enough for the parents but what about for a sibling who is used to having the attention all on himself/herself? Add to it that the baby wears a suit and is on a secret mission to take down puppies and it sure becomes a whole lot harder to be a big brother! That’s the premise of The Boss Baby, a fun new animated movie from DreamWorks Animation/20th Century Fox.
About The Boss Baby, a movie plot overview
DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby. He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby. The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.

Did we like it? Our The Boss Baby movie review
Our group of 4 included an adult, two 7-year-old boys (just like in the movie!) and an 11-year-old girl, who all unanimously loved it! Unlike so many of the other newly-animated movies, there’s no musical numbers, and we didn’t mind. The baby (who is never named) is so funny in his seriousness (fans of 30 Rock will be reminded of the Jack Donaghy character) and the imagination of the 7-year-old brother Tim is very true to 7-year-old boys. We laughed at the scenes that show “where babies come from,” and the taken from true life scenes about life with a newborn. There’s a lot of fantasy too, aside from the talking baby in a suit there are some beautifully-animated scenes depicting Tim’s imagination. You’ll also love the special puppy who promises the demise of the babies! The Boss Baby is fast-paced and will keep you laughing. There’s some high intensity parts when the villain appears, but only a few children in the theater were reacting. There was some baby-related bathroom humor that definitely entertained our boys, but nothing inappropriate about The Boss Baby. Also, don’t expect there to be any hidden inappropriate jokes for adults. The Boss Baby is truly for all ages!
The Boss Baby will be released on March 31, 2017! You can learn more about the movie at the Dreamworks’ site, www.dreamworks.com/thebossbaby
