Station Park is located at 80 Station Road in Sparta in Sussex County. The park is part of the Sparta Township park system.

What kind of playground equipment does the Station Park Playground have?
This Sparta playground has a castle theme to it and is complete with swings, slides, and climbing features. There are two main pieces of playground equipment. There is a tot lot with a toddler playground and a larger playground for older children.

Are there swings?
There are several swings at the Station Park Playground. There are 3 baby swings, 1 accessible swing, 1 tire swing, and 4 traditional swings.



Are there slides?
There are a couple of different slides at the playground. All are open slides. The preschool structure has 2 side-by-side slides and one curvy slide.

The older children’s playground has 2 curvy slides and 2 side-by-side slides.



What special features does the playground offer?
The playground offers a few special features. There are climbing walls on both the big kids’ and little kids’ playgrounds.

In the past, there was a see-saw, but during our June 22, 2022 visit we did not see any evidence of that. There is a ride-on horse, stepping pods, climbing ladders, musical instruments, tunnel, and spinners.

Kids love the pretend ice cream stand. There is a wall set up to look like an ice cream shop. It even has a door to walk through and a window to order at. When Jillian took her kids they visited the ice cream shop 4 times during their visit to the park. Her kids could not get enough of pretending to make the ice cream and being the customer.

What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The ground cover throughout the playground is wood mulch.

Is the playground at Station Park Playground accessible?
There is one accessible swing, but the playground itself was not very accessible. There is no ramp onto the playground equipment. There are some sensory play areas and a child could roll over the mulch to get to the ice cream play area.

Is there shade available at the Station Park Playground?
There is so much shade! This playground is surrounded by a lot of trees and there are canopy tops on the equipment which helps makes it pretty shady. There are also a lot of shady places like picnic tables and benches to sit and observe the kids. Families stay at this park for hours because the sun is much more manageable.

Where is parking for the Station Park Playground?
There is a large parking lot.

Are there restrooms at Station Park Playground?
At the Station Park Playground, there are porta-potties.

What else is there to do at Station Park Playground?
In addition to the playground at Station Park Playground, there are courts, fields, grassy areas, and a pond.

On our visit, we saw a nice pavilion overlooking a pond. While we saw some people walking around the park there did not appear to be a clear trail.
