STAR WARS READS DAY

 

In 2012, Lucasfilm celebrated their first Star Wars Reads Day with over 1200 events across North America. This year they are expecting even more events. Below you will find a list of various events throughout the state to make it easier for your to explore the galaxy with your Jedi’s. Currently there are 49 events in New Jersey. We will update if we hear of any other events in the area.

 

 

What is Star Wars Reads Day?

“Star Wars Reads Day is the kind of initiative that we at Lucasfilm love to support” says Carol Roeder, Director of Publishing at Lucasfilm. “Reading and Star Wars have gone hand-in-hand since 1976, when the novelization of the original Star Wars movie was released. Over the years, many fans have discovered the joy in reading through Star Wars books, and we hope to continue encouraging more people to read.”

 

Star Wars Reads Day Activities will vary from location to location, but most will have some of these.

• Raffle prizes
• Promotional giveaways
• Trivia games and more.
• Select events will feature appearances by Star Wars authors and artists
• Costumed characters

 

Star Wars Reads Day at Barnes & Noble Locations

• Cherry Hill
  • 2:00 pm – Build your own Star Wars Millennium Falcon, Star Wars themed story time, giveaways and activities, Registration recommended.
• Clark
  • 2:00pm- Build your own Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Registration is required. All day- Get your picture taken with Star Wars Standees.
• Clifton
  • 2:00 pm -Star Wars themed story time,  Giveaways and activities. Join us for a Star Wars themed lego building activity.
• Deptford
  • 2:00 pm – Calling all young Jedi’s, join us for Star Wars activities, crafts, story time and giveaways. Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character.
• Edison
  • 2:00 pm- Star Wars Lego make and take, activities, games and more. Craft is for children ages 8 and older. Registration is required.
• Freehold
  • 2:00 pm  – Star Wars themed Lego make and take. Building activity is for children age 8 and older. Please register before hand.
• Hackensack
  • 2:00 pm-Star Wars themed Lego make and take. Please call ahead to sign up.
• Holmdel
  • 2:00-3:00 pm – Star Wars Lego make and take project.
• Livingston
  • Children are invited to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters. Join us for giveaways and activities.

  • 2:00 pm – Star Wars themed story time and activities. Lego make and take Star Wars themed project.
