Sideways Stories from Wayside School at the Arden Theater Company

Does your student bring home stories of strange things happening at school? If so, Sideways Stories from Wayside School is just the show for him (or her). It’s the latest in a series of great family theater performances being held at the Arden Theatre Company.

Is your school a little too…normal? Welcome to Wayside. Before you enter Wayside School, you should know it’s a thirty-story building with one classroom on each floor. Mrs. Jewls is nice and teaches class on the thirtieth story, but watch out for Mrs. Gorf, who turns kids into apples if they give a wrong answer. And then there’s Miss Zarves, who teaches the class on the nineteenth story – except there is no nineteenth story so there is no Miss Zarves. The zany characters of Wayside School take you on a bizarre classroom journey that promises to thrill and excite the entire family.

I have a feeling that after seeing Sideways Stories from Wayside School your child is going to be bringing these strange stories to school and their friends will be just as excited to hear them.

Strangest thing may have been her losing her tooth on the bus, and then losing the tooth on the floor of the bus. I pity the bus driver who had to find that, and probably lots of other things!

My son once told me it snowed in his classroom and they had to shovel out. Of course it was just a few flakes in the room through the window but he always comes home with a good story.

The only thing I could think of off hand was they were doing this story about the Gingerbread running away. They looked for him all throughout the school and ended up finding him in the principles office..:) Wonder what he was doing there?? :)

I always hear stories about what could happen when you are bad. Sounds a lot like Matilda to me!
