I absolutely adore Shai Shacknai Memorial Park Playground in Wayne New Jersey. It’s tucked into a residential area and driving through the neighborhood you would never guess that there’s this beautifully magnificent accessible playground. On one side there are trees. The other side has trees and then there are homes. And yet this is one of the bigger neighborhood playgrounds we have seen.
Shai Shacknai Memorial Park doesn’t appear very large when you first happen upon it, but once you start to explore the playground you notice how much there is to do. There are so MANY details built into this playground that it truly is accessible to all.

I should also add that the wildlife loves this Wayne park too. We spotted a whole family of deer between the fenced in playground and the trees. There’s an opening and the deer just grazed as kids played. Even when we stopped to watch them the deer were not fazed at all. I have never seen that.

I grew up in the neighborhood. I agree it's a nice park however.growing up in the 60's that area was woods and streams and olf farming fields and no houses. That was our playground. It is a experence few kids have no a days. Ì ride by and it brings back good memories. It a bit sad for me to see it all developed

@BOB Kaznica, not all children could utilize the park without some development. I understand the nostalgia, but as someone with a child that has special needs it's wonderful to know that now ALL kids can have fun.
