Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square
My 11 year old and I have been to Ripley’s Believe It or Not Atlantic City several times, so I knew he would love to check out another Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum when we headed into New York City. After a few discussions between Jenn and Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square, they were able to arrange tickets on our behalf. The Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square museum is the largest Ripley’s museum in North America with a collection of over 500 unusual artifacts from all over the world as well as amazing interactive exhibits. There are 20 themed galleries spread out over two floors. The displays here were very different from what we’d seen before: they were less weird and creepy and more interesting and fun.
Right from the start the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square exhibits caught our attention. My son’s feet have been growing and growing so it was nice to see how small they were compared to the tallest man.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square had optical illusions, like the one below where my son’s legs disappeared; fun facts and amazing displays, like a full-size steampunk train made entirely of toothpicks; and lots of different views of New York city’s skyline and skyscrapers. Some of my favorites were a large mural made entirely of shapes and a past and future mirror that showed what happened a few seconds ago.
My son really enjoyed the Ripley’s Believe It or Not New York experiences. He was able to take a picture of himself as if he were climbing the Empire State Building and look down on New York City as if he were above it.
We had a lot of fun on our Ripley’s Believe It or Not NYC visit and it is a place we would visit again because there are so many displays and things to see and read, that you can’t see it all the first time. Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square is located at 234 W. 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square tickets can be purchased online with our affiliate link in advance or at the museum. The museum is open 365 days a year with the standard hours of operation of 9am to 1am. During the winter, it closes at 11pm on Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesdays.
