Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express 2024

If you’re the parent of little ones, one of the most highly anticipated movie events of the summer ISN’T the latest blockbuster. It’s the Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express schedule! Our Jersey Family Fun readers anxiously await the lineup each summer as this series is a cheap way to see movies with kids in a cool theater on those hot days. And anything goes, as it’s geared toward kids who might need to get up and move, or haven’t yet perfected their whisper.

Regal Cinemas HAS announced their Summer Movie Express for the summer of 2024

If you’re looking at this in 2024, no doubt you have been as anxious as us for the details about the 2024 Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express. Trust me, when I say we WORK hard to get those details for you…stalking their website, social media channels, and searching for a number to call. We NOW have the details for 2024 from Regal Cinemas!

Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express for the summer of 2024

Regal’s Summer Movie Express will run Tuesday, June 11 through Wednesday, August 7. That being said, individual theatres will only participate in the 9 weeks that align with the local school system’s summer break schedule. For New Jersey, in the past, our Regal Summer Movie Express ran from late June to early September. For 2024, it looks like our NJ theaters will stick with the June 11 through August 7 date. Yes, I am sorry to announce it looks like there will be less movies this year.

All the New Jersey Regal Cinemas that participated in 2023 WILL participate this year. There will be fewer great movies this year than last year. Over the summer New Jersey Regal Cinemas will show 18 select G & PG rated movies for $1 a showing, Part of the proceeds of admission will benefit the Will Rogers Institute. The movies will be shown on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The movies for each week are shown on BOTH DAYS. All movies are rated G or PG.

“Moviegoers of all ages can enjoy an incredible list of films with a wide variety of choices from animated features to live-action stories about nature,” stated Ted Cooper, Senior Vice President of Film for Regal Entertainment Group. “It’s great to see all of the kids and parents who make good use of this summertime fun.”

What’s different about Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express for the summer of 2024?

In previous years, before 2022, the Regal Cinemas website made it very easy for families to see the full schedule for their local Regal theater. Unfortunately, it’s still not so easy this year.

For 2024, you will need to make sure the Regal Cinemas website is set to your location. (IF you are in New Jersey we are working to individually check every NJ Regal Cinema theater to see what their schedule will be. The updates will be below. Keep scrolling. Keep checking back with us for updates to your local theater)

1. With the website updated to your location, you could see up to 18 movie choices.
2. You will need to click on the movie image to see if that movie is indeed playing at your local theater OR check your movie theater’s schedule and locate the date and view that day’s movies.
3. Once the new page loads, scroll down to the bottom of the page to see if there are screenings in your area.

More changes things to know about Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express for 2024

• Ticket prices are ranging from $1 a person to $1.07 per person. That’s a nice change from the past few years when prices were $2 per person.
• There are only 18 movies this year. The series will run for 9 weeks June through August when we’ve had over 30 movies in the past and a series that ran into Labor Day weekend.
• It looks like tickets still need to be purchased in advance. There is no specific statement to this fact. However, tickets are available for purchase online.
• There may be a booking fee for each transaction. The amount of the booking fee depends on the number of tickets you are buying and the theater. When testing this out, the booking fee was about $2.02 per ticket in Manahawkin, but there was no booking fee in Mays Landing.
• The ticket limit has increased from 10 tickets per person to 20 tickets per person. This could make it more difficult to get tickets.
• Showtimes may vary. In the past, all Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express showtimes were Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the same time. Last year it looked completely different. For example, SMX23: Sonic The Hedgehog had only one showtime in Mays Landing at 11:30 am on Tuesday, June 27, but in Vineland, it was at 12 pm. This year, the Regal website says all showtimes are at 11 am. So far we can confirm that’s what we are seeing for participating NJ theaters. In other words, movie times may vary by theater and sometimes from week to week.

Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express Movie Schedule for 2024

As we check each individual theater’s schedules we’ll update this for 2024. This will be a continuous process as some theaters have released their entire schedule, some have released the first few weeks, and some haven’t released anything.

Most theaters are showing both movies both days, but the showtimes for each movie may be different.
