Outback Steakhouse – Family Friendly Restaurant Review

Posted on: August 17th, 2011 by

We are kicking of our Family-Friendly Restaurant Review Series with a review of the Outback Steakhouse in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

It was a Thursday night and although the lot was packed we were seated right away. With our 3 boys in tow, I was glad we didn’t have to wait. The Outback Steakhouse was a bit loud but our boys fit right in and it wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves. It was nice to be somewhere where my husband and I didn’t have to constantly hush the kids.  Through pictures and words we’ll share the highlights from our dinner.

The Joey (kid’s menu) at the Outback Steakhouse went beyond your typical children’s menu. Between the front cover and back, were 6 pages to keep the kids busy.  The pages were packed with games, jokes, coloring pages, a word search, maze, tic-tac-toe and more. This and the complimentary bread kept my kids busy until their dinner arrived.

My boys Chicken Fingers Dinner

My husband’s prime rib dinner

My BBQ Mixed Grill with coconut shrimp, fries, barbecue ribs, and barbecue chicken.

For the most part my boys ate all their meals as did my husband and I. Although we did find that the waitress wasn’t as attentive as she could be. We had to track her down for extra cups of milk for my boys and an ice tea for me, but we were pleased with the overall value and taste of our meals.

Have you been to Outback Steakhouse with the kids? How was your experience?

Instead of letting her husband and boys slow her down, she brings them along! Did you know that boys behave better when they are out exploring?
