It’s the eve of 2023 and New Year’s Events for kids and families are back! Once again we’re happy to share with you our annual listing of local New Year’s Eve events for families in New Jersey. They’re a great way to ring in the new year with your kids by your side. When my boys were younger the thought of them staying up until midnight was exhausting, so New Year’s Eve events for families that rang in the new year a few hours early were always a welcome change!
Now that my kids are teens, we might try something different like one of the New Year’s Eve events below. New Year’s Eve with kids has never been so much fun!

- Celebrate the New Year at noon with noisemakers and party food.
- Have a movie marathon until midnight where everyone gets to pick their favorite movie to watch together.

- Make a memory jar of your family’s favorite memories from the year.
- Have a special dinner where everyone gets to eat their favorite foods.

- Sparta New Year’s Eve event – Sparta Lanes is offering family-friendly New Year’s Eve bowling parties at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. - Freehold New Year’s Eve Event – Ring in the New Year at iPlay America’s annual New Year’s Eve Celebration! Bring the entire family and enjoy a night of rides, party favors, games, live DJ, and giveaways! Admission starts at $42.99 when tickets are purchased in advance. South Jersey New Year’s Eve Events for Families
These South Jersey New Year’s Eve kid-friendly events are on for 2022/2023
- Avalon New Year’s Eve Fireworks & Celebration – Avalon intends to present a fireworks display Saturday at 5:00 pm to help ring in 2023! There will be face painting, a dance party, refreshments, and more. Learn more on the Avalon Facebook page.
- Atlantic City New Year’s Eve event with fireworks – New Year’s Eve fireworks in Atlantic City are back. At 9 PM on the Boardwalk, Tropicana will dazzle the sky with a vibrant firework performance. Free. You can learn more in our event listing. Status currently unknown.
- Camden New Year’s Eve events with fireworks – The Battleship has several New Year’s Eve events with fireworks for families. What I’ve always loved is they offer an early evening and late evening fireworks shows, perfect for families with little ones that need to get to bed earlier in the night. - Collingswood New Year’s Eve event – The Pop Shop is holding a New Year’s Eve Party for kids with Anna and Elsa!
- Glassboro “Noon” Year’s Eve Party, and Show! Event at Robert J. Novins Planetarium, Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11 am, Noon Years Eve party and show, tickets are $10. Visit their website http://www.ocean.edu/planetarium for more information.
- Hammonton New Year’s Eve Bash & Giant Blueberry Drop– In Downtown Hammonton, in front of Town Hall at 100 Central Avenue when the town clock strikes midnight the Giant Blueberry will drop! - Jackson New Year’s Eve event with fireworks at Six Flags Great Adventure – Six Flags Great Adventure will have a fireworks show for New Year’s Eve. Fireworks are free with theme park admission, Season Pass or active Membership. If the fireworks are anything like they were in September, they will be phenomenal. - Lower Township Family New Year’s Eve Party – Food and music, game shows, face painting, inflatable slides, and more will be available for kids to enjoy at this free New Year’s Eve party in Lower Township. Check out our event listing for more information.

- Wildwood New Year’s Eve event – Mudhen Brewing Company offers a milk and cookies toast at 6 PM, along with a balloon drop and more. Registration is required. Visit their Facebook event for more information.
