How many days have we been home with our kids? I’ve lost count. Have you? If your kids are anything like mine once the schoolwork is done they want to head straight for the video games. If only there were some creative projects I could get to distract them. With that in mind this guide to creative New Jersey curbside pickup kits was born.
By now you’ve probably seen the New Jersey pizzerias that offer pizza kits for curbside pickup. That was such a fun and original idea. I’m thankful for those first pizzerias that launched that idea because from there other New Jersey businesses started brainstorming what they could do.
Now we have New Jersey small businesses creating take home painting kits and wood staining kits. We have New Jersey bakeries offering cookie decorating kits, cake decorating kits. There’s a Dairy Queen with DIY ice cream cupcakes. Chains like Dunkin, Auntie Anne’s, Playa Bowls, and Moe’s have all gotten in on the action offering edible take home kits too.
As we get into the summer expect this trend to continue. We’ll tell you about the curbside pickup kits below. BUT we’ll also keep adding to this list as we learn of more participating businesses. And why not? For less than what you might have planned to spend on summer camp for the kids you can have a different project for them to do each day.

Ceramic Painting at Home
- Call the store via Facetime. An associate will work with you to pick out the ceramic item you or your child would like to paint and the paint colors. They will pack it up for your curbside pick up. Once you’ve completed the project you’ll arrange to drop off the piece at their location to have it glazed and fired. Then, you’ll pick it up for one last curbside pick up.
