It’s that time of year! Moms and dads start looking for their family elf and we start researching new Elf on the Shelf products and ideas. There’s always something new to add to the elf fun.

Grinch Elf on the Shelf

A few years back our Elf brought a new friend to town.

This year we had some help in our research. Santa’s helpers from Elf on the Shelf hired us to partner with them to share their exciting news. Not only are there new Elf on the Shelf products, but there’s also a new Elf on the Shelf movie, Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale

As part of our Elf on the Shelf partnership, we had an opportunity to see the movie, learn about the new products, and interview Chanda Bell, Elf on the Shelf Founder and Co-CEO.

Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale DVD

The first thing that’s new for Elf on the Shelf is a movie. As part of the Elf on the Shelf event in New York City I had a chance to watch Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale DVD. It was a sweet tale about hope and the Christmas spirit. Through the movie we see how it is truly the Christmas spirit that helps Santa fly through the night and make it to every home. The animation is beautiful. Watching the glowing Northern Lights and the sparkle in Nola, the fox’s tale, was awe-inspiring. Even the adults will appreciate it.

Grandparents raising grandchildren and military families with a parent abroad will especially relate to the story as these are important themes to the movie.

About the Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale DVD

How does Santa travel the whole world in one night? Set against the backdrop of the mystical Northern Lights, Scout Elf Newsey investigates as a little boy named Michael, The Elf on the Shelf Scout Elves and loads of adorable Elf Pets Arctic Foxes find out for themselves that nothing is more powerful than hope—not even Santa!

Running time: 27 minutes.

At this time the movie is not scheduled to air on TV or cable. You can ONLY watch it by having the DVD. You can get your own copy of the Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale on Amazon. Although you can get the DVD by itself, I like this gift set because it includes a hard cover story book along with the plush fox from the story. Trust me, once your child watches A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale, he or she is going to want that beautiful fox.
