We were super excited about the chance to go see the 2015 Monster Energy’s AMA  Supercross Championship at Metlife Stadium. Up until now this had always been an event that we read about in magazines or on Jersey Family Fun, but never got to witness live. As we approached the stadium we could feel the energy and instantly we were pumped!

Unfortunately we did not arrive early enough to party in the pit. However, all event attendees with a regular ticket to Supercross who bring a recycled Monster product can with them to the entrance, will receive a pass to go over to the pit. What made this year’s championship even more special is that fact that FOX Sports was broadcasting the show LIVE!

We found our seats, sat down and within minutes it was time to start the show. After a beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, fireworks exploded. This was a much welcome surprise as my kid’s eyes lit up with wonder.

We loved how when each rider was announced they took a lap around the stadium. Some riders threw memorabilia such as jerseys, t-shirts and even their riding helmets! When Monster Energy Supercross 2015 Champion, Ryan Dungey took his lap the crowd went wild! After all of the riders were announced it was time for the first race. The riders lined up, revved their engines and were off!

It was a perfect day to be in the stands. The sun was shining, skies were blue and the air warm and comfortable. However, I do recommend bringing a light jacket for when the sun goes down and the evening hours approach. There was several times throughout the races where the competition had us sitting on the edge of our seats. Specifically when during the main event Marvin Musquin crashed while going neck in neck with Joey Savatgy. Both riders had great runs, but in the end it was KTM sponsored Musquin who came our the winner.

In between races crew members came out on the track and used huge rocket launchers to send t-shirts soaring up into the stands. The boys had a lot of fun trying to catch some of the flying souvenirs.

Each race seemed more exciting than the next. We were even lucky enough to walk past singer PINK as she and her husband, retired  motocross racer, Carey Hart strolled hand in hand headed towards the stadium food stand. All in all we shared a day full of thrills, tremendous skill and spectacular amazement. This was our first day out at the championships and definitely not our last!
