What is Kung Fu Panda 3 about?
Kung Fu Panda 3 starts with Po and the “Furious Five” spending a typical day practicing kung fu and protecting the valley. Po thinks that this is what being the dragon warrior is all about, but Master Shifu informs him that he still has a lot to learn. Things quickly get turned upside down when Po’s long lost father arrives in the valley. Their reunion is cut short when Kai (an enemy of Grandmaster Oogway) returns from the spirit world to destroy the Jade Palace and all the kung fu masters. Kai is one of the toughest villains they’ve faced and he grows stronger with every battle. The fate of the valley and Po’s new found panda family all rest in his hands. Po realizes that in order to defeat Kai he needs to become a teacher, and turn a group of fun loving pandas into an army of kung fu pandas.
What my kids loved about Kung Fu Panda 3:
- It was hysterical. They were laughing throughout the movie. Po has the same goofy charm that he displayed in the first two movies and now there is an entire village of clumsy, hungry pandas to laugh at.
- The pandas! The pandas were so adorable and so funny. They were the best parts of the movie. Imagine a group of animals that can eat more than Po!
- Po and his biological father reuniting. Po’s father is just like him, so when the two of them get together it’s bound to be interesting.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is rated PG and is suitable for all children. There are a few intense action scenes that scared my 3 year old, but the humor in these scenes helped him get over it. Even the villain in the movie is funny, so it helps lighten the mood during the intense parts. My kids were getting scared one second and then laughing the next.
This movie is a must see for anyone who has been following the Kung Fu Panda movies, but even if you haven’t seen the first two movies you can enjoy this one. You can easily follow along with the plot of this movie even if you haven’t seen the others.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is being released on Friday January 29th. I hope your family loves it as much as mine did.
