We first wrote about this playground in 2015. We returned this August (2022) for a visit. It looks like much of the playground equipment has stayed the same. Our pictures and details are based on our August 2022 visit.
Where is Knight Park Playground located?
The park and playground are located at Park Avenue and West Browning Road in Collingswood, Camden County, New Jersey. The park is managed by its own board of trustees.
What kind of playground equipment does Knight Park have?
The playground features multiple imagination-sparking structures like castles, a dragon, chariot, car wash and more. There are slides and swings too.
Are there swings?
There were lots of swings in different areas. Altogether, there were 12 traditional swings, 4 baby swings and 1 accessible swing.
Are there slides?
There were straight slides and a twisting slide. None of them were very high.
What special features does the playground offer?
The playground had a horse-themed see-saw with a bench seat that was fun for the bigger kids.
There was also a “merry go round” type swing for children of all sizes that could be swung. There was also a high back spinner and other spinners for kids.
On a hot day, you can also enjoy the “Collingswood Carwash” which is a misting sprayer on the playground for the kids to run through.
Other features include a bridge, climbing features, and a chariot.

What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The majority of the playground ground cover was wood mulch or dirt. The inner infant-small toddler playground had rubber padding as a ground cover.
Is the playground at Knight Park accessible?
The inner infant-small toddler playground was extremely accessible. There was not much climbing involved and lots of open areas. The bigger equipment was not very accessible.
Is there shade available at Knight Park?
There were lots of shaded areas and benches all around the playground. The playground itself had areas of shade, as well.
Where is parking for the Knight Park Playground?
There is plenty of street parking that was in the park and clearly being used by playground goers.
Are there restrooms at Knight Park Playground?
There are indoor restrooms just a short walk from the playground.
What else is there to do at Knight Park?
In addition to the playground at Knight Park, there are additional amenities available for visitors.
Are there walking trails?
The playground is surrounded by walking trails, bike paths, and dog friendly areas.
Are there fields or courts for sports?
The park features athletic fields such as ball fields and open grassy areas.
Bonus information we want you to know about Knight Park
This playground is clearly designed for younger children and older kids, like mine, might not enjoy it for long. Since the playground is part of a 70-acre park older children may want to bring frisbees, kites, or other toys they can play with in the grassy area while little kids are on the playground.
