Keating’s River Grille – Family Friendly Restaurant Review

Have you been reading our Weekends in Philly series we launched Easter Weekend?

Our Weekends in series is an opportunity for our readers to learn about great destinations to travel too with their family and then where to eat, play, and stay once you get there. Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing was our first stop on our hotel tour. (You can read the details in our review or watch the videos on YouTube.) What a pleasure it was to wake up the next morning for a yummy breakfast in the Hyatt Regency restaurant, Keating’s River Grill.

I arrived with my boys eager to eat breakfast and perhaps a little anxious about what they would eat and would they behave. Thankfully, the Keating’s River Grill Kid’s Menu quickly set me at ease.

Keating’s River Grill Kid’s Menu

Keating’s River Grill provides 6 options for kids at breakfast beginning at $2.95.

  • Fruit Yogurt
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • French Toast
  • Pancakes
  • Scrambled Eggs

My boys ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs, and French Toast. With their decisions made, I had to decide for myself. I looked over the Keating’s River Grill regular breakfast menu. Did I want a Three Egg Omelet, Ricotta Pancakes, or a Pennsylvania Dutch Fritatta? It all sounded so delicious I couldn’t decide. So I went for the Breakfast Buffet. I figured I would have a little of everything.

Breakfast buffets are a nice option too for families traveling on a budget. Let the kids fill up on their favorite foods and you can getaway with a light lunch to hold them over till dinner.

At the Keating’s River Grill Breakfast Buffet you can enjoy:

  • Pastries
  • Assorted Meats and Cheeses
  • Bagels & Cream Cheese
  • Yogurt & Oatmeal (See below for all the ways to add flavor to your oatmeal and yogurt.)
  • Cereal
  • Fresh Sliced Fruit
  • Whole Fruit
  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Breakfast Potatoes
  • Bacon & Sausage
  • Chef’s Feature of the Day

I love how fresh the food was. Each time I would look up I’d see a server replenishing the food. Clearly, it wasn’t just me who was enjoying the tasty foods.

My boys ate up their meals and were then craving cereal. After all with 6 cereal choices how could they not be tempted. The cereal dispensers are easy for kids to use to. Once you place your bowl underneath, your child just turns the knob and the cereal drops into their bowl a little bit at a time.

The cereal selections at the Keating’s River Grill includes healthy options as well as some of your kids’ favorites.

The service was great. Our waiter checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. What a view, too. The Keating’s River Grill is located on the Waterfront inside Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing. Almost any seat is going to give you a great view of the river. On warmer days outdoor seating is available.

Keating’s River Grill is open Monday – Friday, 6 am to 12 am and Saturdays and Sundays, 6 am to 2 am. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and accept all credit cards.

In full disclosure, this is a sponsored post from the Hyatt Regency in Penn’s Landing. We were provided with a VIP suite and breakfast at the Keating’s River Grille at no charge. Our parking was included. These things were arranged so that we could review the Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing and Keating’s River Grill for its family friendliness.  However, our opinions are honest and based on our experiences at the Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing and Keating’s River Grill.
