Last year when our friends at Momtrends invited Jersey Family Fun to the New York Baby Show, we happened to have one close friend pregnant and triplets on the way for my brother and sister in law. My family joined me as we ran around looking for new products that weren’t around when I was last pregnant 7 years earlier. Surprisingly, we left that day with items for our family, and really enjoyed our day at the New York Baby Show. I was excited to be invited back because now those triplets are 8 months, and my goddaughter is 3 months. The are real humans now who laugh, eat, sleep (sometimes), and need STUFF. They need these Jersey Shore essentials for baby.
When in New Jersey, summer is time for the SHORE!
This year, I was less focused on gift giving, and more focused on how to make summer fun easier for these moms of newborns. I know that even with a 7 and 11-year old, a day at the beach requires a lot of planning and a lot of STUFF. This year, I wanted to find products that parents could use to make those sandy, sunny days easier. I was surprised to not find as much as I expected, but my three choices for Jersey Shore essentials for baby are definitely MUST HAVES.
With that, here are my 3 Jersey Shore Essentials for Baby from the New York Baby Show!
Jersey Shore Essentials for Baby – Austlen Entourage Stroller
Retail $849.99, but available for less than $550 on Amazon with this link. Available at Pish Posh Baby in Lakewood and coming soon to a Buy Buy Baby near you.
I know what you’re thinking. That price is really high for inclusion on a website that focuses on inexpensive ways to have fun in New Jersey. Hear me out though! I have spent more than 11 summers bringing one or two children onto the beach. Many times it was just me (and friends with their own kids). That didn’t mean we needed less stuff; there was still the tent, the cooler, the beach chair, the towels, the toys. The challenge of carrying all that still makes my body ache.
The Entourage Stroller is all you need for your beach haul! First, your child (up to 50 pounds) goes in for a ride, with a UPF 50+ canopy. There’s an upper “market tote” and the lower basket to carry a combined weight of 150 pounds. Just look at the picture of everything it can carry!
The Austlen Entourage is an amazing everyday stroller, but for an extra $60 get the beach wheels and it’s the only beach cart you’ll ever need! You’re definitely going to turn heads and make those parents pulling a wagon, pushing a stroller, and carrying COUNTLESS items very jealous as you have it all in one. Order now – the wheels will be available in June, with plenty of time for Summer 2017 beach days!
Jersey Shore Essentials for Baby – Luv Bug UPF 50+ Sun Protection Blanket
Retails $29.99, Available on manufacturer website and Amazon with this link.
I met with Luv Bug owners last year and remembered them as being a local (Philly-based), family owned company with some great products. This year, they offered exactly what I needed with their Sun Protection Blanket! You can see how small it rolls up, so it’s great for beach bags or even purses, unlike a traditional bulky beach towel. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy and at 29.5″ x 39″ it’s large enough for your toddler too. I can say so much about this but I already did! Look below for our Facebook Live from the New York Baby Show.
We left the New York Baby Show with a gray one, but I suspect I’ll be buying a few more before summer is over.
Jersey Shore Essentials for Baby – Babyganics Outdoor Essentials On-The-Go,
Retails $13.99 Available on Amazon with this link.
My first child was born in August, and my second was a January baby. Usually we all joke that the second baby doesn’t get as much attention, but in this case, the precarious situation of sunscreen on a newborn got him a lot of attention! We hadn’t had that issue with the first child. Endless discussions, research, and testing led us to an expensive brand that did the job of not aggravating his newborn/prone to eczema skin.
A friend recently told me about Babyganics, and how she uses it for herself as well, because it is gentle enough for her face. At the New York Baby Show, Babyganicf displayed their whole line of skincare products, and what caught my eye was the Essentials On-The-Go. Try out the insect repellent, hand sanitizer, and SPF 50 + sunscreen in cream and stick form. In those days when you’re figuring out what your newborn (or child!) needs in the way of sunscreen, smaller packaging can be helpful. Ready to buy enough for the summer, you can do that too in spray, single use tubes of cream, or
BONUS – Babyganics also carries another beach essential; swim diapers!
It’s always a fun time to visit the New York Baby Show even if you’re not shopping for babies. The innovative products and services can be adapted for any age – last year we purchased a Vitamix and use it daily! As for this year’s picks, while the stroller is best for baby and toddlers, the other items are definitely useful for any age! The sun protection blanket is already stashed in my beach bag for our days in Wildwood, Belmar and beyond. Check them out before summer passes you by.
Thanks to the New York Baby Show for all the excellent info, see you next year!
