Jackson Gore Inn Okemo Mountain Resort Ludlow Vermont hosted us for Okemo Media Weekend 2016.
The Comfort of Jackson Gore Inn
Skiing is exhausting. I wouldn’t know personally since I don’t ski (ha!) but I see how tired my family is after a day full of fresh air and swishing through the snow. When they come off the slopes we want a place to relax, stretch out and dry those wet clothes. We found all that and more at the Jackson Gore Inn during our hosted stay at Okemo Mountain Resort. I am so glad they invited us for a visit.
Pulling into the Jackson Gore Base area is like a postcard! The village and base is less than 20 years old and is designed to bring the charm of a ski village but the convenience of modern amenities. The Inn offers ample above ground parking along with an underground garage for overnight guests. There is complimentary ski check and valet, and the front desk is open 24 hours with concierge services. Before you’re even in your room you feel well taken care of!
We were given a Jackson Gore Inn one bedroom suite for our family of four. We were thrilled with how much room there was to spread out! With multiple closets we could keep our snow pants and coats out of the way, and two dressers was enough for all our clothing to get unpacked. We took advantage of the full kitchen our first night, when we were tired from the drive and just looking forward to some pool time. It also made it easier to make hot chocolate after our skiing both days! A table in the living area space fit the four of us for dinner.
Sleeping in our suite was glorious! The bedroom offers two queen beds and the living room has a sofa bed and a wall mounted murphy bed. And the fireplace! The fireplace in the living room kept us warm and toasty and provided the perfect ambiance for a winter getaway. The high speed Wi-Fi was perfect for when we wanted to watch shows on our devices, but the suite came with two televisions as well.
We may have been there to ski, but our children can’t be at a hotel without having pool time. The Jackson Gore Inn offers an indoor/outdoor pool as well as indoor and outdoor hot tubs. It was 19 degrees on the night we arrived, but we were out there, frozen hair and all! The snow from the snow making machines blew over and it was definitely one for the memory books!
There’s an indoor sauna and steam room as well which of course requires parental supervision. Best to take some quiet time and escape there yourself – it was blissful to sit in the sauna!
Back at the room we had no issue with showering after our dips in the pool, as our suite had two full bathrooms. The towels were plentiful as were the soaps and shampoos, so we all cleaned up in no time. Our maid service was thorough and came while we were skiing. All our interactions with inn staff were great! They allowed us a couple hours for extended check out, but even if not they would have held our gear for us. Need to have some adult time either skiing or dining or just relaxing? Check out the Penguin Playground right on site where you can get quality care for your kids.
