About Disney Pixar Incredibles 2
In INCREDIBLES 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

Our Incredibles 2 movie review
What can I say besides it was worth the wait. Released 14 years after the original movie (The Incredibles), Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2 proves that sequels can in fact be just as good, dare I say better, than originals. The movie is simply…Incredible!
In Incredibles 2, Elastigirl embarks on a mission to fight crime and redeem the good name of “supers”, while Mr. Incredible stays home to watch the kids. Reflecting an increasingly common social role reversal, Mr. Incredible quickly realizes that he is over his head dealing with a teenager in love, a mischievous son, and a baby whose superpowers are rapidly developing. Meanwhile, Elastigirl, fighting her desire to head back to her kids and family, must use her powers to fight Screenslaver, a mysterious new villain who can hypnotize people through their biggest addiction – their TV screens. Jack-Jack brings the audience to laughter throughout the movie as he explores his newly discovered super powers, and fan favorite Edna Mode returns in a comedic and show stealing scene.
In preparation for viewing Incredibles 2, we had a movie night at home to watch the original movie. My kids had not previously seen it, and my husband and I had only watched The Incredibles when it was released in theaters in 2004. The kids loved every minute of the original movie, picking favorite characters (Frozone for my son and Jack-Jack for my daughter) and anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. I had forgotten how clever and amusing the original movie was with its relatable characters (minus the super powers unfortunately) and entertaining story.
As we entered the theater to watch Incredibles 2, you could hear the excitement from the audience as kids shrieked with anticipation for the movie to start. Once the movie began, we all settled down and truly enjoyed the nearly two hour movie. The movie moves quickly and with its brilliant humor and nail-biting moments, there is no down time. I was nervous how my 4 year old would do watching this action-packed movie, but every time I looked over at him, he was sitting at the edge of his seat intensely staring at the screen and laughing at all of Jack-Jack’s antics. I was ready for him to jump into my lap when the scenes turned a bit darker and scarier, but he continued staring at the screen hardly flinching. Truth be told, I probably flinched more than he did. The various story lines of the movie weave together perfectly, culminating in an action-packed showdown that takes us through an emotional journey filled with nervousness, fear, joy, and laughter. We left the movie theater excitedly discussing our favorite parts and funniest scenes (hints: raccoon fight, math homework, and superhero costume designer Edna Mode). Pixar has really hit a home run with Incredibles 2 and I might go so far as to say that it is one of the best animated action movies they have created.
Pull up a chair, pop some popcorn, and re-watch The Incredibles to make sure you go into the theater ready to pick up the story where it left off. Although 14 years have passed since we were introduced to the Parr family, in Metroville time has effectively stood still waiting for the release of Incredibles 2. Don’t get too comfortable in your theater seat as you will be jumping into the action within the first moments of this sequel. Incredibles 2 is a hilariously dynamic movie that the whole family can enjoy!
