About Horrid Henry
Based on Francesca Simon’s popular children’s book series, Horrid Henry slime pack movie edition will be soled exclusively at Walmart.
When Henry fails yet again to hand in his homework for the umpteenth time, he inadvertently sets off an unexpected and curious chain of events. He forms an unlikely alliance with Moody Margaret, the infuriating girl next door, outwits corrupt school inspectors, topples an evil headmaster, wins a talent contest, and stands up to his ultimate nemesis. With each antic crazier than the last, Henry finds himself inexplicably trying to save the very school which he has always professed to hate.
We received the Horrid Henry movie and chapter book to review last week for our family’s movie night. I had not been familiar with Horrid Henry. My boys apparently were. First, we read some of the book. (We’ll review that in a separate post.) Then, we played with the slime pack that comes with your exclusive Walmart edition of Horrid Henry. After giggles and laughs with how the slime moved through our hands, we moved onto watching the movie, where the giggles continued.
What a great movie for my boys. Two of my sons are at that in-between stage where they are too old for many Disney movies but too young for many PG or PG13 movies. Horrid Henry presented them with a movie where the main character is a boy about their age, who doesn’t like homework either. Pretty much everything about Henry makes him relatable to young boys. And while Henry has a reputation for being horrible, he really is anything but. He is your typical boy and in the end he goes beyond that by trying to be a hero and save his school.
Not only was this movie a big hit for my boys. It was for me too.
- Horrid Henry had no inappropriate language or humor.
- There was teasing between some characters but it was limited to the boy versus girl rivalry or sibling rivalry that we can relate to from our younger days.
- It had no violence.
- There were many great messages.
Get Horrid Henry in time for your next family movie night and let us know what you think.
