Where is Hackettstown Community Playground located?
Hackettstown Community Playground is located at 599 Warren Street in Hackettstown in Warren County (right next to the Hackettstown Community Pool). The playground also goes by the name Hackettstown Pool Playground due to its location. We had some difficulty finding this playground as the route we took did not make the playground visible from the road. It’s also across from the high school.
The park is part of the Hackettstown park system.
What kind of playground equipment does the Hackettstown Community Playground have?
The playground is small enough to keep track of all your kids. There is a fence up on some sides of the playground. You can easily sit on one of the benches and be able to see all your kids at once. This is very helpful when you have an older kid that wants to be on all the big kid stuff and a younger one who wants to stick to the toddler equipment.
There are two main playground structures, a larger taller playground for older kids and a smaller playground for toddlers and preschoolers.
Are there swings?
There was one swing structure with 2 baby swings.
Are there slides?
There are 4 slides in all. On the toddler equipment, there is one curvy slide and one straight slide.
On the older kids playground equipment, there is a tall open curvy slide and a bumpy tunnel slide that curves a bit.
What special features does the playground offer?
In addition to what’s been mentioned, there is a group of stepping pods, parallel bars, a balance beam, and some sensory play areas.
Parallel Bars
There are 2 long metal parallel bars. Jillian’s daughter spent most of her time at the playground on the parallel bars. She pretended she was at dance class, then she pretended she was a gymnastics. She had her little brother sit on the side and watch her show. Such a simple piece of equipment was able to be used in so many different ways. Those bars provided so much entertainment and imaginative play. Another child might look at the same equipment and use it for something else entirely.
Climbing features
The larger piece of equipment for older children provides a lot of climbing opportunities. The playground is pretty equipment is pretty compact but it is very high. This allows for lots of climbing practice. There are metal climbing walls, a twisting ladder of sorts, monkey bars, and small rock walls. Jillian’s daughter loved checking them all out.

The ground cover is wood mulch.
