Have you had a Habit burger?
There is probably a good chance that you have never heard of a Habit burger. That is up until now! The Habit Burger Grill is the newest food sensation to hit Monmouth County. Serving everything from gourmet burgers to fresh salads and sandwiches galore, Habit Burger has just what you need to keep everyone in your family feeling full and satisfied.
The History Behind Habit Burger
The Habit Burger Grill was established in 1969 in Santa Barbara, California. Upon opening it’s doors, the owners of The Habit Burger Grill installed a stainless steel charbroiler with a cast iron grill top, something that many hamburger restaurants were not using. This equipment in addition to using California’s fresh surplus of tomatoes, lettuce and other toppings, quickly led the restaurant to become known as having the tastiest burgers around. The owners used the location of this restaurant to add beach themed recipes to the menu, such as grilled albacore tuna sandwiches and avocado infused salads. Since 1969 patrons have been RESPECTING THE BURGER and all of the other fine foods Habit Burger serves.
What is On the Menu?
The Habit Burger Grill provides a variety of foods to choose from. There are 100 % all beef charbroiled burgers, freshly made salads, warm and toasty sandwiches, kids meals, and delicious desserts like milk shakes.
I ordered the Santa Barbara Cobb Salad.
My salad had fresh sliced avocado, crispy bacon, warm grilled chicken, crumbled blue cheese and diced egg all tossed with chopped romaine lettuce and a red wine vinaigrette. The salad was crispy and fresh. The dressing was just enough leaving my lettuce intact and not soggy. I loved the tang of the red wine. The portion was very ample and I wound up taking half it home to enjoy later.
My husband ordered an Original Charburger.
This burger was cooked to order in a kitchen open to all of the patrons to observe. The burger comes topped with mayonnaise, lettuce, caramelized onions, tomatoes and pickles on a sesame bun. My husband took advantage of the pepper bar and added some mild peppers to his burger. My husband ordered his burger cooked medium which made it just juicy enough to sink his teeth into, yet the outside had a nice charbroiled crisp to it. His burger came with a side of fries and a drink.
My daughter ordered a grilled cheese sandwich from the Kid’s Menu. She was very excited that she could order apple slices as one of her sides. She also had french fries, apple juice and of course the meal came with a surprise treat, a gummy candy burger! Her sandwich was super melty and cheesy-just the way she likes it!
The Habit Burger Grill decor is very southern California inspired. The dining room is large and open. Patrons can choose to sit in booths, or use one of the pub style tables. Around the restaurant there are pictures on the walls of California mountainsides and beaches. What really added to the Californian vibe was the greenery and flowers in the dining room.
What we liked most about Habit Burger Grill
What really stood out to us at the Habit Burger Grill was the quality and pricing of the food. We could not believe we were eating such fresh and delicious food for at a family friendly reasonable price. In addition to our happy wallets, we were extremely impressed with the friendly staff and management at Habit Burger Grill. It was very evident that the Habit Burger Grill team takes pride in preparing superior food and even more so love serving it to their patrons. We will definitely be making it a habit to return to this restaurant!
