3 Great Ways to Spend a Spring Day in Hudson County New Jersey
Ride the rails!
If you’re a commuter, this might be totally unappealing to you. But for just a couple dollars you can treat your train obsessed children to a ride on the Hudson/Bergen light rail through Hoboken and Jersey City, or the PATH from Hudson County into New York City. Get out and explore a neighborhood you’ve never been to!
See a 1932 Fire Truck at the Hoboken Historical Museum
For the low admission cost of $2/person any weekend between 12-5 PM the Hoboken Fire Department Museum is open for exploring! Ring a bell, dress up like a fireman and see pictures of Hoboken’s fire department history. Keep your eyes open for a picture of Hoboken’s most famous resident too!
Check out the skyline and more at Liberty State Park
Liberty State Park is well known for being the launch point to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, but it’s also a green oasis in a metropolitan area. Kayaking, fishing, even crabbing is permitted in the park. Starting in May you can rent bikes or take a Segway tour. The Interpretive Center offers programming such as bird walks and clean ups, and for an additional cost, the Liberty Science Center is also located in the park. There are of course playgrounds and picnic areas as well.
