5 Things You Need to Know about Funplex East Hanover

This post was sponsored by Funplex East Hanover who provided passes and a food voucher to make our visit possible.

Funplex has been a Morris County landmark for years. I remember celebrating my sister’s birthday there about 20 years ago and spending the night there for our Project Graduation. But it’s been awhile since I paid a visit to Funplex and I couldn’t believe how different it was.

My family had a great day exploring the new and improved Funplex, an indoor and outdoor amusement park in North Jersey, and we discovered a few things you need to know before you visit.

5 Things You Need to Know About Funplex East Hanover

Funplex East Hanover has a waterpark called Splashplex!

When I first talked to people about our upcoming visit to Funplex East Hanover there were many people surprised to hear that Funplex had a waterpark. The waterpark is hidden in the back of the building and many people have no idea that it is there. Despite the fact that it is tucked away in the back, it’s actually a good sized waterpark. The attractions at Splashplex include a lazy river, infinity pool, splashpad, and 6 water slides.  Our family spent about 3 hours just in the water park.

There are plenty of places to sit and relax at the waterpark.

I’ve been to water parks where seating is very limited. We try to find a few chairs and save them with our towels when we first get there so we will have a place to sit when we need it. But Splashplex is different. There were several sections full of chairs and we had no trouble finding spots to sit when we wanted them. There were options in the shade and in the sun depending on what you prefer.

Funplex East Hanover offers plenty of outdoor seating as guests enjoy their Splashplex waterpark.

There are cabanas available to rent.

If you are looking for a private place to relax when you are not in the water then you might be interested in a cabana rental. The cabanas are beautiful enclosed spaces that are reserved for you. Cabanas are for up to 7 guests and they includes 4 bottles of water, electric service, WiFi, refrigerator, 4 chairs, table and 2 lounge chairs, and a television. There is a limited number of cabanas so you should reserve early if that is your plan. You can even reserve a cabana online before you head to the park. Rentals for the cabanas range from $75-$150 depending on which type of cabana you want and whether it is a weekend or weekday.

The Splashplex waterpark at Funplex East Hanover offers cabana rentals.

There are 2 eating areas to choose from at Funplex East Hanover.

After spending some time at Funplex you are definitely going to work up an appetite.  Since they do not allow any outside food or drinks on the premises you will want to check out the Pitstop Cafe. There are cafes inside and outside so you can grab some food no matter where you are. The menu includes things to make a full meal like pizza and chicken tenders. But there are also plenty of snack options like funnel cake, fried Oreos, pretzels, and ice cream. We took a snack break in the waterpark and had funnel cake and ice cream. Then we ate pizza for lunch inside.

There are a few different dining options at Funplex East Hanover including pizza.

There are boardwalk style rides inside at Funplex East Hanover.

When we finally had enough of the heat we headed inside to check out the Funplex amusement park section. I was expecting an arcade but I was pleasantly surprised. There were plenty of arcade games to choose from but there were also many rides that you would typically find on the boardwalk. My kids had a blast on the bumper cars, go karts, and sky scraper rides.
