The Foundry pinnable

Without a doubt, there is no lack of places to eat in New York City! Every cuisine is represented, every dining option from fast to slow and .99 pizza slices to the world’s most expensive everything. It’s a relief sometimes to not have to make a choice, and have an option right inside your hotel that provides something for everyone and is food you can feel good about!

We recently spent the night at The Westin New York at Times Square, and were treated to a buffet breakfast in their in-house restaurant, Foundry Kitchen and Bar. Foundry Kitchen is open from 7 AM – 11 AM for breakfast, and it’s a buffet like none I have seen. I have picky eaters and there was plenty for them to try, eat, and enjoy. I was thrilled at all the healthy offerings! What they don’t realize won’t hurt them, right? Of course we always love a buffet where not only can we try new things, but we can eat as much of what we love, as we want. It is a great option for filling up for those busy New York City days.

We were greeted upstairs by a Foundry Kitchen hostess, and after a walk down a short flight (or you can take the elevator), we were led to a table. Our server came quickly with coffee and offered us juice as well. And then it was time to eat! Some of what we enjoyed included:

Foundry Kitchen Breakfast Buffet Options

  • Individual servings of cereal
  • Fresh oatmeal
  • Loads of toppings for your yogurt or oatmeal; nuts, fruits, granola, chocolate and more
  • Fruit both peeled and portable!
  • Bagels, bread, and so many pastries, with a toaster at the ready
  • Donuts (the one sweet treat I found)
  • Individual cups of yogurt
  • Freshly made smoothies
  • Fresh squeezed juices
  • Bottles of milk, plain and chocolate
  • Spinach and Egg White Frittata
  • Pancakes
  • Bacon
  • Eggs, both scrambled and hard boiled
  • Potatoes

Options surely change by the day, but you will not be disappointed. We each had at least two full plates and the adults enjoyed coffee refills. Tables were filling up by the time we finished at 9 AM, but the selections remained full and no one was in a rush for us to leave. We left feeling full and ready for a day of sightseeing in New York City!

Prices for Foundry Kitchen is $23.95 continental breakfast, $32.95 full breakfast, and $16.95 children.
