The Newark Premiere: Gone Too Soon: The Life, Legacy and Loss of Newark’s Cultural Icons
Gone Too Soon is an examination of the lives and cultural contributions of eleven of Newark’s most influential artists and storytellers, each artisan an historian and community leader in their own right. The post-show discussion will take place immediately following the screening with Director/Producer Celeste A. Bateman and film crew.
Director/Producer Celeste Bateman’s, Gone Too Soon examines the lives and legacies of eleven great artisans, delivering lively vignettes of these beloved locals whose impact will be felt for decades. Gone Too Soon both recognizes their greatness, while memorializing the losses that are still felt throughout an entire city and artist community. Gone too Soon is an opportunity for the less familiar live-work-play Newarkers to understand and appreciate the rich tapestry of Newark’s culture and those who have helped weave it.
