Seining Along Sandy Hook Bay
Discover a variety of fish, crabs and other sea creatures as you pull a long seine net along the edge of Sandy Hook Bay. It will be a fun time for everyone as you find out what lives and swims in Sandy Hook Bay.
Seining is the act of holding a net vertically in the water, dredging slightly at the bottom and seeing what comes out! In this case, seining in the Sandy Hook Bay.
Meet on the beach near the parking lot. Open to all ages; under 18 with adult.

- This program is designed for individuals and families. Groups can reserve a date by calling 732-872-7369.
If you go to Summer Seining at Bayshore Waterfront Park:
- Parking was available, but limited. Arrive early or look for nearby off street parking.
- Wear your bathing suit so you can go in the water with the net!
- It’s on the beach so sunscreen is a must. Bring your beach gear and make a day of it! No lifeguards are at the park so swim with caution.
