Highland Park Halloween on the Avenue

Celebrate Halloween in Highland Park with MASKED + SOCIALLY DISTANT + OUTSIDE ONLY trick-or-treating, free totes, a jack-o-lantern contest with online voting, live music, a spooky window display tour, and movies in the Outdoor Movie Theater!
* MASKS ARE A MUST! And we aren’t just talking about Halloween costume masks – you have to have a cloth or medical mask covering *both* your mouth and nose even if you are also wearing a costume mask. Keep your neighbors safe!
* STAY OUTDOORS AT ALL TIMES! Please do *not* go door-to-door inside businesses; help keep our business owners safe. Going inside is not safe. Some businesses will have treats on tables outside their doors, however, so walk around town and check!
* FREE TRICK-OR-TREAT TOTE: Pick up a free trick-or-treat tote filled with sweets, treats, and business coupons from the Moonladies by the outdoor pavilion at 212 Raritan Avenue. Totes can be picked up at the following locations and times:
— Friday Oct 30, 11am-4:30pm, during the Farmers Market
— Saturday Oct 31, 1pm-5pm, at various points throughout downtown: North 4th, South 3rd, at the Pavilion between 2nd and 3rd, and at the old gas station between 1st and 2nd.
* FOOD PANTRY DONATION! Make a food pantry donation at any of the Halloween tote pick-up spots! The HP Food Pantry is ONLY seeking the following items at this time: cereal, oatmeal, rice, and canned fruit.
* TRICK OR TREATING: There will be a number of *outdoors & contact-free* trick-or treat locations along Raritan Avenue so be sure to stroll up and down the Avenue to find them!
* JACK-O-LANTERN CONTEST: Fill out this form (https://forms.gle/YjxWbXdzoFGeWFsw8) to enter the contest. Bring your jack-o-lantern to the HP Farmers Market on Friday October 30 between 11am and 4:30pm to enter. Entries will be photographed and put online for an online voting contest.
* LIVE MUSIC: Hear the spooky tunes of El Noordzo on the corner of South 3rd Ave and Pete Horvath on the corner of North 4th from from 3:30-5:30pm.
* SOCIALLY DISTANT OUTDOOR MOVIES: The Outdoor Movie Theater (in the municipal lot next to 212 Raritan Ave) will be showing a short kid-friendly flick around 6pm and a scary adults-only movie around 8pm. RSVP to reserve your socially distant spot. Check the @HighlandParkOutdoorMovieTheater Facebook page for updated info.
