Cattus Island Weekend Programs

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Sunday and Saturday, repeating until April 25, 2021

The following programs are Free, No Registration Required. MAXIMUM: 8
Location: Cooper Environmental Center, Cattus Island County Park, Toms River
Scales and Tales – Saturdays and Sundays – 11:00 am – 11:30 am
- Join a park naturalist as they dispel the myths and fears of native snakes. You will see
some of our live snakes up close and personal. Learn what makes these native species
so special, and why they are such an important part of the ecosystem. This program is
sure to inspire all young nature lovers. No registration required.
Turtle, Tortoise, or Terrapin – Saturdays and Sundays – 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm
- Are you curious about the habitats and habits of some of Ocean County’s many turtles?
Join a park naturalist as they discuss the differences between these reptiles. You will
also get to meet live ones during a demonstration feeding. No registration required.
