Here are more fun activities in Long Branch, New Jersey.
A Weekend of Kites, Culture and Family Fun in Support of Afghan Girls’ Education
In Afghanistan, kites are a cultural icon: with their fragile glass strings and grand, ornate designs, they’re a reflection of the delicate dichotomy of life. To the people of Afghanistan, they represent an experience of blissful freedom. When you watch an Afghan child fly a kite, it’s as though they themselves are soaring.
On the weekend of September 25, Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation invites your family to join us for our one-of-a-kind event at the Pier Village Annual Kite Festival, where culture and recreation collide. Gifts and giveaways including stunning, original handcrafted Afghan kites (with glass-free strings!) and knitted kite pins, with all donations going directly to support girls’ education in Afghanistan.
Razia’s Ray of Hope funds the only tuition-free, privately managed all-girls school in Deh’Subz, Afghanistan, educating thousands of girls since 2008 with over 750 girls presently enrolled and 300+ more on our ever-growing waitlist. Graduates have gone on to become teachers and midwives, and pursue degrees at the Universities of Kabul and Istanbul. Our foundation is committed to building a brighter future for the people of Afghanistan, with girls and young women paving the way.
