Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is a fantastic story about the earth’s environment.

Long ago a villain { the Once-ler } finds a wonderful place filled with Truffula Trees that he chops down greedily to make Thneeds. All of the Truffula Trees begin to disappear and the Lorax { played by Danny Devito }, who “speaks for the trees for the trees have no tongues” warns the Once-ler that all the green will disappear. The Lorax leaves only a rock engraved “UNLESS” .

The Once-ler has saved a single Truffula Tree seed. However the fate now rests in the hands of a caring boy {played by Zac Efron }to be the last chance for a clean, green future full of free air.

The movie is pretty powerful for both adults and children, teaching lessons about nature and our environment.  One of my favorite lines from the movie is ” Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not”

Would I recommend Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax movie?

Yes, the powerful message the Lorax teaches is very important. My 3-year-old loved the movie and grasped most of the concept of “saving the earth”. My 10-year-old really enjoyed it and understood the powerful message. Both cannot wait for the DVD to come out!
