Children’s Park Playground at Veteran’s Park in Hamilton Township lays claim to being the largest playground in New Jersey.
This is one of the most extensive playgrounds that I have ever seen. It is like taking your kids to lots of different playgrounds on the same day. Kids can easily spend the entire day in this park since there are numerous playgrounds all in the same area for all ages and with many different types of equipment.

Being that this playground is part of Veteran’s Park there are multiple addresses associated with it. All are in Hamilton, Mercer County, New Jersey.

The park is part of the Hamilton Township (Mercer County) park system.
What kind of playground equipment does Children’s Park Playground have?
The playground offers multiple playground structures. Most include slides, climbing features, and sensory play areas. Each structure has a slightly different color scheme as well. For example, one is green and brown. Another one is purple and green. The new one is green and red. Stand-alone features were red, yellow, and blue.
Are there swings?
There are several swings throughout the park. We counted at least 4 accessible swings, 2 traditional swings, and 2 baby swings.
Are there slides?
The same goes for slides, there are at least 14 slides. They include 4 big open slides, 2 medium side-by-side open slides, 1 open large slide, and 1 open small wavy slide. There are 2 small side-by-side open slides and 2 medium side-by-side open slides. There is a giant regular slide and a giant metal slide. We’ll group them below by structure. It was a busy day at the park so we couldn’t get pictures of them all.
The purple structure has a straight slide, a slightly curvy slide, and a wiggly wavy slide.
The older green structure has straight slides, curvy slides, and side-by-side slides.
The newest structure has a wiggly ladder slide and side-by-slides.
There were stand-alone structures with blue slides. One had a tall straight blue slide and the other had short side-by-side blue slides.
What special features does the playground offer?
Our favorite special feature was the kids’ zip line.
There were ride on springy toys such as cars, motorcycles, and a purple dinosaur.
There is climbing equipment built into the equipment and stand-alone structures like this toddler climbing wall and a retro climbing dome.
Monkey bar rings come in different shapes and sizes and allow kids to swing forward and back or around in a circle.
See-saw options let kids sit in a straight line or all around in a circle.
There were numerous other things featured such as a merry-go-round, giant metal slide, balance beams, diggers, spinners, and more.
What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
Ground cover varies with each playground. The newest one has a rubberized surface and the others have wood mulch.
Are the playgrounds at Children’s Park at Veteran’s Park accessible?
In addition to the 4 accessible swings, there are sensory play areas on the newest playground structure. They are both at the ground level and on the playground equipment accessible on the pathways.
The ramp runs from the ground level and turns as it moves up.
Is there shade available at the Children’s Park playgrounds?
There are lots of trees so there is shade near and over many of the playgrounds as well as nearby benches and picnic tables. In some areas, a canopy stretches over the equipment to provide shade.
There is also some shady areas to play underneath the playground equipment.

There is a large parking lot adjacent to the fountain and the playground.

The north side of the park offers a huge tennis complex, soccer fields, and softball fields. There are also volleyball courts and a skate park.

Veterans Park is a nearly 350-acre park that was built in honor of Hamilton’s veterans in 1977. The park is home to Martin’s Lake, which is connected to Pond Run stream.
