Shop Local – Where to Buy Records in New Jersey

Where can I buy records in New Jersey?

This year the it gift for Christmas seemed to be record players. Did you buy one for someone? Did your teen get one? In the days after Christmas my Facebook feed was filled with pictures of others who had bought record players. Everyone was looking for where to buy records in New Jersey.

We purchased a Victrola record player, for my 16 year old teen son, during some last minute shopping. It had been on his list for a while. When I saw them on the shelf at Kohls I immediately knew I needed to get it for him. They were on sale and I had never seen them at such a great price. Truth be told, I wanted one too, so gifting him one was a win win.

Of course, after you get a record player the second question becomes where can I buy records in New Jersey? I knew of a few record shops in New Jersey near me, but I wanted to find more, especially because I knew so many friends in New Jersey were now proud owners of record players.

We bought my son 3 albums, from the Record Shop in Mays Landing, to start his collection. Then we went back a few days after Christmas to buy a few more records, because who wants to play the same 3 albums over and over.

Since then, our family has had some great afternoons, around the dining room table. We’ve played games together and enjoyed fabulous meals all with albums playing on the record player behind us. Often, we’re singing right along with the songs. It has brought me great joy to have this new fun way to bond with my kids. My boys are getting a kick out of how much fun I am having listening to the music of my youth.

I want this same joy for you and your families. If you have a new record player, you need new or ‘new’ to your family record albums for your family time around the record player. With that in mind we’ve created a guide to where to buy records in New Jersey.
