We love doing fun things as a family. When we got the opportunity to visit Casino Pier Amusement Park in Seaside Heights, I knew my two boys and their cousins would love it! They had never been to Seaside Heights before.
About Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach
Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach is a Central New Jersey theme park that houses exciting attractions, roller coasters, and plenty of fun for everyone. The property is packed with games, rides, arcades, food stands, water park attractions, and a nearby beach making it one of the best places to visit for family fun this summer.
Casino Pier offers the amusement park. Breakwater Beach offers a water park.
In full disclosure, we were provided with Casino Pier Amusement Park tickets to make this review and feature possible. The information below is based on our visit from August 6, 2023.
Casino Pier Amusement Park Rides
There were many rides for all ages: roller coasters, spinners, thrill rides, and more. There was a nice mix of kiddie rides and teen/adult rides. All rides are posted with height requirements and credit/tickets required information.
Xolo Loca – Casino Pier’s Newest Roller Coaster
- 55″ Minimum Height (77″Max) for Rollover Car, 47″ Minimum Height for Spinning Car
- 36” to 47” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult Rider (18+)
- This ride requires 6 tickets.
- Xolo Loca is situated at the back of the pier. It is easy to spot the colorful track.
About the Xolo Loca roller coaster
There are 2 different cars for this ride – Rollover Cars and Spinning Cars, which do what their names say. It is so colorful, but my family did not ride this particular one. It was a little too scary for my 9 year old, and not scary enough for my teenager.
Centrifuge
- 48” Minimum Height, 36″-48″ Must Be Accompanied by a Paying Adult Rider (18+)
- No Single Riders
- This ride requires 8 credits.
- Centrifuge is located right in the middle of the park, towards the back.
About the Centrifuge
This is an indoor scrambler with strobe lights and smoke. This was the first ride that called to the older boys, and they loved it. The exit is at the opposite end of the building, and the door stays closed until the ride is over. I did look in to take a picture and see what was going on, since they were out of my sight.
Crazy Cabs
- 48” Minimum Height, 42″-48″ Must Be Accompanied by a Paying Adult Rider (18+)
- Requires 4 credits.
- Crazy Cabs is located in the very front of the park and it’s bright yellow cannot be missed.
About Crazy Cabs
The cabs spin clockwise and counter-clockwise while the base is spinning. We did not ride this ride, although everyone on it looked like they were having a blast!
Disk’o
- 48” Minimum Height for all Riders
- This ride requires 5 credits.
- Disk’o is located on the far right side of the park.
About the Disk’o Ride
Disk’o has a giant circular disc, riders are seated on a giant circular disc facing outwards while spinning around while traveling on a half pipe track. My thrill seeking boys rode this a few times and loved it. The greatest thrills come at the top of the track, where riders experience a whipping sensation as spectacular views of the beach, pier, and ocean whizz by.
Ferris Wheel
- 36” Minimum Height All Riders, 36” to 54” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- 6 credits are required for this ride.
- The Ferris Wheel is the first thing you see from the boardwalk. The entrance is around the back side.
About the Ferris Wheel
The Ferris Wheel is 131 feet tall. My family is not the biggest fans of heights, so we just watched. There is 1 wheelchair accessible gondola.
Hydrus Roller Coaster
- 48” minimum height for all riders.
- This ride requires 10 credits.
- The Hydrus is located on the right side of the pier.
About the Hydrus Roller Coaster
The Hydrus roller coaster is so tall it can be seen from down the block at Breakwater Beach. The Hydrus roller coaster is a Gerstlauer manufactured Euro-Fighter roller coaster with a 72-foot vertical lift and beyond-vertical drop. It travels at speeds up to 45 mph! There is a huge drop, a loop, and a roll. My boys rode this multiple times, and had to go back to do it one last time before we left. It was a top contender for their favorite!
Moby Dick
- 42” Minimum Height All Riders, 42” to 48” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- This ride takes 4 credits.
- Moby Dick is against the very back of the pier.
About the Moby Dick ride
Riders are seated in one long row that rocks back and forth and then eventually the ride starts spinning until it reaches maximum height. The speed gives the sensation of being in a boat that is floating on the water, just at a faster speed than your typical boat ride. While we did not ride this one, it reminded me of the classic rides from when I was younger.
Musik Express
- 44” Minimum Height All Riders, 44” to 48” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- You will need 6 credits to ride.
- Musik Express is located in the middle of the park, in the back.
About the Musik Express ride
This classic ride amps up the fun with a DJ, lighting effects, sirens and fog! My older boys loved screaming to go faster! The cars travel on a circular track and through a tunnel.
Pirate’s Hideaway
- 38” Minimum Height for All Riders, 38” to 48” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- Pirate’s Hideaway required 5 credits.
- It is located in the middle of the park.
About the Pirate’s Hideaway ride
Pirate’s Hideaway is a family friendly roller coaster which may appeal to the younger crowd. There are dips, turns and drops, but nothing like the Hydra. It looked fun to ride in a pirate boat shaped car.
Super Storm
- 55″ Minimum Height All Riders., 77″ Maximum Height All Riders.
- This ride requires 8 credits.
- Super Storm is located in the middle of the park.
About the Super Storm ride
Super Storm is another extreme ride that spins riders in multiple directions. Riders are seated in a circle at the end of a pendulum arm. The ride spins while the arm swings. The pendulum arm even goes upside down making a 360 degree revolution! This ride was too scary for my 9 year old, so we did not ride it.
Tilt-A-Whirl
- 46” Minimum Height, Under 46″ Must Be Accompanied by a Paying Responsible Rider
- This ride requires 3 credits.
- This ride is located in the middle of the park.
About the Tilt-A-Whirl ride
This is a very classic ride and family friendly, and we all rode this together.
Wave Swinger
- 38” Minimum Height All Riders, 38” to 44” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult Rider (18+)
- Wave Swinger takes 5 credits.
- The Wave Swinger is located in the center of the park.
About the Wave Swinger ride
This ride brought me back to my childhood, when we would take off our shoes so they didn’t fly off. I rode this one by myself solely for the nostalgia. The views while swinging were awesome!
Shore Shot
- 48” minimum height
- This takes 8 credits.
- Shore Shot is at the entrance to the pier. It can be seen from everywhere.
About the Shore Shot ride
Shore Shot launches riders 125 feet into the air, down and then back up again. My daredevils rode this 4 times so they could sit on each side to see the views! Easily the teenagers’ favorite ride!
Casino Pier Amusement Park Kiddie Rides
Casino Pier in Seaside Heights has over 10 kiddie rides for the littlest of kids. For many of them, parents don’t need tickets to ride with their child. We’re sharing details about our favorite kiddie rides here. You can find details about the other ones on the Casino Pier website.
Carousel
- 42″ min height to ride alone, Under 42″ need supervising companion
- The Carousel takes 2 credits.
- The Carousel is located on the left side of the park, close to other kiddie rides.
About the Carousel
Every amusement park needs a carousel. This one had beautiful dragons, horses and other animals. My kids are now too big for many of the kiddie rides, unfortunately.
Dizzy Dragons
- 42” Minimum Height, Under 42″ Must Be Accompanied by a Paying Responsible Rider
- This ride takes 3 credits.
- Dizzy Dragons is located on the left side of the park.
About Dizzy dragons
Riders climb into giant colorful dragons, and can spin their dragon while the base rotates.
Elephant Express
- 36” Minimum Height, Under 36″ Must Be Accompanied by a Paying Responsible Rider
- 3 credits are required to ride.
- Elephant express is located to the far left of the park, past the Dizzy Dragons.
About Elephant Express
Kids can pull the lever in their elephants, and control how high they want to fly!
Mermaid Parade
- 36’ Minimum Height, children only
- Requires 3 credits.
- This ride is located at the front of the pier.
About Mermaid Parade
The flume cars float and slide along the track. There is a beautiful mural behind the ride. My 9 year old rode this ride, and was probably a little big for it. He sat back, relaxed and enjoyed it.

Surf Shack
- 42” Minimum Height
- 3 Credits are required to ride
- Surf Shack is in the front of the pier, towards the left.
About the Surf Shack
Walking through the funhouse reminded me of the movie Grease, so I had to try it! This mother and holder of all things was not prepared to get through the rotating barrel, so they did stop it to let me through! My boys ran through multiple times!
Super Slide
- 42″ Minimum Height All Riders., 36″-42″Minimum Height Accompanied by a Paying Adult Rider (18+)
- This ride takes 2 credits.
- Super Slide is in the back of the park, to the left side.
About the Super Slide
Kids can grab a mat, walk up the stairs, and slide down all the bumps.
Bumper Cars
- 42″ Minimum Height Restriction for All Riders, 42″-50″ Must be Accompanied by a Paying Adult (18+)
- The bumper Cars take 5 credits.
- They are located to the left of the entrance to the pier.
About the Bumper Cars
Who doesn’t love bumper cars? All of the boys rode this multiple times and had a blast riding in circles and bumping each other.
Pirate’s Island
- 42” Minimum Height for All Riders, Under 36″ Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- Takes 4 credits.
- Pirate’s Island is located in the back, lon the eft hand side of the park

Unfortunately, this ride was closed on our visit, and looks to be under construction. We look forward to trying it next time.
Sky Ride
- 36” Minimum Height All Riders, 36” to 42” Must Be Accompanied By a Paying Adult (18+)
- This ride has an additional fee. $8 Round Trip / $5.00 One Way – Wristbands & Easter SURF Cards not valid.
- The Skyride entrance is right before the Park entrance.
About the Sky Ride
The open air cable cars travel slowly down the boardwalk. Some of my family took the ride and enjoyed it, while others were a little frightened by the height.
Go Karts
- Casino Pier in Seaside Heights has 3 types of go-karts depending on height.
- Single Car: 54” minimum height for all drivers.
- Double Car: 54” minimum height for the driver. 36” minimum height to 48” maximum height to be a passenger (passenger tickets are discounted).
- Single “Junior” Car: 48” minimum height to 54” maximum height (this car is sized for younger guests and operates on the same track during the same race as all other cars).
- Drivers are $13.00 per person, $4.00 per passenger.
- Go-karts are situated between Breakwater Beach and Casino Pier, and next to Mini golf.
About the Casino Pier Go Karts
All of the boys (including my husband) loved the go karts and wanted to another run around the track. This was the first time my 9 year old was old enough to drive his own go kart. He was hesitant at first, but was so excited he could do it by himself.
Breakwater Beach Waterpark
Just a few steps off the boardwalk is Casino Pier’s water park, Breakwater Beach. Casino Pier is located at 800 Ocean Terrace in Seaside Heights NJ.
When is the amusement park open?
- The Casino Pier Amusement Park opens for the season in May. Rides, arcade and mini golf may open on different dates.
- The Casino Pier Amusement Park closes for the season on Labor Day weekend. Games and arcade are open past this date.
- During its season the Seaside Heights amusement park hours vary on day of week and month. Best to check their website for more details.
How much are Casino Pier tickets?
Credits are $1 each, and can be purchased separately or in bundles.
How can I save money on Casino Pier tickets?
You can purchase credits in bundles with other activities. There are 2 hour wristbands for $40/$45 depending on day. You can also purchase a Ride & Slide package with Breakwater Beach. Guests over 48” are $75, and under is $69.
Where is parking for the Casino Pier?
They do not have their own parking lot. There is street parking, municipal lots, and private lots surrounding the park. We parked in a municipal lot for $3 per hour. Simple enough to pay for as many hours as you need with a credit card at the pay station.
How much is parking?
There were many lots around the park, charging various amounts for the day. There were also municipal lots charging $3 per hour.

Outside Food Policy
Casino Pier is open to everyone to walk on from the boardwalk. You only need to make a purchase to go on the rides. There is no official statement, but no bags are checked.
Where can we eat and buy food at Casino Pier?
We had dessert at Casino Pier. Six people all wanted different things, and there were many options to accommodate us. The Seaside Heights amusement park also offers additional food establishments. Learn more at their website.
Stroller Policy
There is no official stroller policy on their website. There is plenty of room for strollers.
Restrooms
There is one restroom located by the Super Slide, and also one by the Grill and Arcade.
Seating
There is plenty of seating for those who want to rest or watch from the sidelines.
When you’re out visiting an amusement park, not everyone wants to do everything. Of course as parents, we’re following our kids around (even when they are bigger) to make sure they are staying safe and behaving. There are benches situated around the Casino Pier amusement park. So if you decide to sit out on some of the more thrilling rides, you really can sit.
5 Tips for Visiting Casino Pier Amusement Park
Here are 5 tips that I learned from our trip to this Seaside Heights Amusement Park.
- There are many free daytime and nighttime shows during the week. Check the website for schedule.
- Unlimited ride wristband are very helpful, instead of counting credits for each ride.
- We used the Ride & Slide Admission. It was a great value, and we were able to do both Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach on the same day.
- The public is allowed in Casino Pier, and it is not fenced in.
- There is very little shade amongst the rides. There is a small misting station.
