Thank you, Disney and Marvel, for inviting me to attend the press junket for Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp, Marvel’s Cloak, and Dagger, and Disney Junior’s Fancy Nancy press events in LA.
I have a secret to tell you. I’ve been holding on to it for a few weeks, but now it’s time to share. At the end of May, just as my youngest’s baseball season came to a close, I got the kind of email that most bloggers work hard to one day get.
“We would like to invite you to a very special Marvel Studios, Freeform & Disney Junior hosted event in June – exclusively for our top Bloggers! This trip will include the film release of Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN AND THE WASP as well as Freeform’s new original series MARVEL’S CLOAK & DAGGER and Disney Junior’s upcoming animated series FANCY NANCY!”
WHAT?!! Last year, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend my first three Disney press junkets, one for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The other two were for Disney Pixar Coco. I still remember that excitement I had when the first email invitation came. I had been foolish enough to think all I needed was one Disney press junket experience. I had thought let me see what this is all about and mark it off my blogging bucket list. How silly of me. These press junkets are addicting. Sitting up close with stars, listening to them, actors, actresses, directors, artists each of them come off both down-to-earth and yet inspiring. Learning about the special effects and artistry that goes into a movie production from the experts, I can’t help but hang on every word. I remember so many little details they shared with us and how there were opportunities where I could use virtual reality to step into movie scenes. I could sit in those interview rooms or walk the halls of a press junket all day and never get bored.
When the email invite came through, from Disney publicist, Marshall, for the Disney And-Man and the Wasp Press Junket I squealed in my car. I had just let my husband take the kids home. I was alone in the car with no one to tell my good news too. I immediately wanted to tell Marshall yes. But I knew I had to discuss this adventure with my family before I could say yes. With no one nearby to tell, I took to Facebook sharing with friends that a pixide-dust filled email with mentions of mystery, bugs, and something fancy had come my way.
Everything about this Disney Press Junket called for me to attend. The kids will be out of school and most of the trip is on a weekend. The regular concerns of getting the kids to school and back or even the airport and back are not a worry this go around. I am also looking forward to the diversity in the programming and what we’re covering. There will be something for everyone to love about this press junket. From the littlest Fancy Nancy fans to the tweens, teens (and their parents) who are into thrilling adventure-packed Marvel movies, I’m coming back with NEW information to get you excited for this Disney and Marvel programming.
I am thrilled to be attending the Disney Ant-Man and the Wasp Press Junket. Keep reading to learn how this line up of Disney programming has something for everyone.

Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN AND THE WASP opens in theatres on July 6, 2018.
About Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
My thoughts on the upcoming release of Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
Where was Ant-Man and the Wasp when the rest of the Avengers team needed them in Marvel Studios’ AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? I’m ready to find out and it looks like ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is going to answer those questions. Will the Ant-Man and the Wasp be the heroes that the Avengers need? They might be small in size but we all know they are mighty in strength and tenacity. Never has there been a better excuse for a Disney Marvel movie marathon. than when you are preparing to see the newest superhero Marvel film. I won’t give any spoilers away but do come back to see my Ant-Man and the Wasp movie review. I’ll share what I can and let you know if it’s appropriate for kids and if the kids can see great examples of heroes in Marvel’s ANT-MAN AND THE WASP movie.

Disney Freeform’s new original series Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER
Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER premiered Thursday, June 7th at 8/7c on Freeform.
About Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER
“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph). Two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened by and awakened to newly discovered superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another.
My initial thoughts on the new Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER
You can’t blink when you watch Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER on Freeform. Every moment there’s something happening. It’s a mix of realism and the fantastical as the characters Tandy and Tyrone come to grips with their new superpowers. In a series so new you want to hang on to every detail so you don’t miss a thing, especially since the 60 minute episodes bounce between the current time and flashbacks. I’ve seen the first 4 episodes and I’m still glued trying to figure out all the details that brought them to this moment. And I’m curious to see how Marvel will have their stories play out. For now, these characters are having to get past the demons of their past. Tyrone lost a brother. Tandy lost her father. Both loved ones had a horrific death and what remains is for Tyrone and Tandy to put their lives back together. How they will do that admist so much turmoil and anguish? Will we see Tandy and Tryone develop as heroes? While in LA, I’ll see the 5th episode and I’ll come back ready to share new information; I’ll be sure not to spill the beans on any epic twists and turns.
Our Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER activities
On Monday, June 25, We’ll visit the Disney Burbank Centre to watch a new episode of Marvel’s CLOAK & DAGGER. After that we’ll have a Q&A and photos with Andrea Roth (“Melissa Bowen”), Miles Mussenden (“Michael Johnson”) and Executive Producer Joe Pokaski. What would you want to know? Disney Junior’s upcoming animated series FANCY NANCY
Fancy Nancy premieres Friday, July 13 (11:00 A.M. EDT/PDT), on Disney Junior, DisneyNOW and Disney Junior VOD.
About Disney Junior’s FANCY NANCY
“Fancy Nancy,” the New York Times bestselling book series by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser, has been optioned by Disney Junior for development of an original animated TV movie and series, as well as for related role-play items and other consumer products licensed by Disney Consumer Products. In addition, HarperCollins and Disney Publishing will collaborate on book editions based on the television series.
The animated FANCY NANCY family comedy centers on 6-year-old Nancy, a girl who likes to be fancy in everything from her advanced vocabulary to her creative, elaborate attire. Excited to experience what the magnificent world has to offer, Nancy uses her ingenuity and imagination as she learns that while life doesn’t always go as planned, it’s important to celebrate the differences that make everyone unique.
My thoughts on the upcoming release of Disney Junior’s FANCY NANCY
With Disney Junior’s FANCY NANCY I get to bring back details that will get the younger kids excited. How many kids have discovered the Fancy Nancy stories on their teacher’s book shelf or their local library? Kids love to play and dress up… and be fancy. Disney’s Junior’s new show will encourage kids to keep doing that and to keep reading. Stories become shows. Shows become stories. For kids, it’s an opportunity to see how Nancy brings her stories to life. Kids can bring that back to their own playtime and recreate each story line infused with their own imagination. For little kids, Fancy Nancy is the hero that shows them what’s possible.
Our Disney Junior’s FANCY NANCY activities
Late Monday morning, we will screen the premiere episode of Disney Junior’s FANCY NANCY. From there we will attend a Tea Party where we’ll have a Q&A and photos with Executive Producer/Director Jamie Mitchell and Story Editor Krista Tucker. Is it wrong that I’m looking forward to the tea party so much I bought a new dress? One doesn’t go to a tea party without getting dressed up and I loved this excuse to pack a new dress in my bag. In a house with three boys, tea parties aren’t something that usually happens. What fun it will be to have a real tea party? Be prepared for fun photos to flood our Instagram page.
