This was another accidental discovery of a playground. This time we were in Wildwood. Our plans to take a dolphin and whale watching cruise had been cancelled due to the threat of a thunderstorm. But the weather was clear and we had two hours or so till our dinner at the Surfing Pig in North Wildwood. So I figured we’d drive down Delaware Avenue towards the restaurant and see what we could find. After all, we had seen so many Wildwood playgrounds on our tour. I was sure we would find one. Then, we did!
We found the Albert I. Allen Memorial Park in North Wildwood right off Delaware Avenue. It’s right near the Acme, so grab and picnic lunch or snacks and prepare for some fun!
When Melissa visited this North Wildwood playground in 2013, she talked about what made this park a winner. “The park facilities have a little bit for everyone. Skateboard park, basketball courts, swings, tennis, observation deck, and playground equipment. We love visiting the park in the evenings during our vacations at the shore for a change of pace and scenery. The kids get to run off some energy before dinner without having to load everyone and their gear up for the beach.”
Since Melissa’s visit in 2013 they’ve updated the playgrounds with new equipment from Landscape Sculptures and added more basketball nets to the basketball courts. It’s more fun than ever!
