8 Reasons to Love Diggerland USA

My family recently took our second trip to Diggerland USA and it was still just as exciting as the first time. There is so much to see and do at Diggerland USA, that kids could visit over and over again and still have a great time.  Here are our top 8 reasons for loving Diggerland USA.

8 Reasons to Love Diggerland USA

  • It’s a unique theme park experience. The rides at Diggerland are not your typical amusement park rides. Children (and adults!) are given the opportunity to operate real construction equipment. Instead of spending the day riding roller coasters or the bumper cars, you can dig holes with an excavator or drive a backhoe.

  • Most of the rides can be enjoyed by adults and children. Often when I take my kids to an amusement park I spend most of the time watching them go on rides. Diggerland is a different story. At Diggerland adults have plenty of opportunities to get in on the fun. I drove several different constructions vehicles and got my turn to dig holes with the “Big Diggers.” I was having fun right alongside my kids.

  • There are no long lines to wait in. Admission tickets to Diggerland USA are limited to specific dates and capacity limits. This allows Diggerland to make sure wait times are bearable and your family can enjoy a good time, without spending all of it in line. We were able to go from ride to ride with very little wait time for each attraction.

  • There is such a variety of attractions that every member of the family will find something they love. Diggerland USA has done a great job of creating attractions to appeal to everyone. There are rides where you can sit back and just be a passenger. There are rides where you get to operate the equipment. There are rides that spin and rides that go up high. There is a huge playground, rock wall, and ropes course. And if you need a break from the rides you can spend some time in the arcade.

  • The stunt show is pretty amazing. At specified times throughout the day Diggerland puts on a stunt show with some of the construction equipment. It is definitely worth it to take a break from the rides and check out the show. The show is engaging and the tricks are pretty impressive. They push these vehicles to the limits of what they can do.

  • Many of the rides can accommodate a parent and child. My 3 year old was thrilled to be at Diggerland but was too small to operate many of the vehicles on his own. Luckily almost all of the attractions can accommodate a driver and passenger. He was able to experience all that Diggerland has to offer by exploring on my lap. Together we drove a skid steerer, and operated the big and little diggers. He did not feel left out because he was too small.

  • Even though you are operating REAL construction equipment, everything is perfectly safe. Yes, most of the rides and attractions are JCB Heavy Construction equipment. However, safety hasn’t been compromised. All equipment has been modified for use on a course or it has been made stationary by design for use in excavation areas. On many rides, children will be accompanied by trained Diggerland staff. The staff does a great job of explaining how each machine operates and monitoring it while it’s being used to ensure safety. I had no trouble letting my 6 year old drive the skid steerer by herself. I knew that she was being properly monitored and would be safe.

  • Diggerland is a great value for the price. Admission for adults is $29.95 and kids between 36 and 42 inches is only $24.95. A lot cheaper then most other amusement parks! Children under 36 inches and non-participating adults over 65 are free. This ensures that you can bring the whole family and not wasted money of tickets for people who won’t be riding the rides. Parking is also free at Diggerland, which is a great feature.
