The words “Free” and “Atlantic City” aren’t often in the same sentence together but this October Atlantic City is offering a Toll Free Tuesday. Every Tuesday in October tolls are free on the Atlantic City Expressway (eastbound) from noon till midnight. Additionally, take advantage of free parking at the Wave parking garage. That’s two great freebies to save you money when you visit Atlantic City. But what to do with that extra bit of cash? We’ve rounded up 5 ways for families to do Atlantic City’s Toll Free Tuesdays.
5 Ways to DO AC With Your Family On Toll Free Tuesdays This October
The Atlantic City Aquarium. Did you know that there is an aquarium in Atlantic City? Located in Gardner’s Basin the Atlantic City Aquarium offers 3 floors of fun to explore. Make sure to check the events schedule at the entrance to see what time the tank show and live animal shows are. Shopping at The Walk. The Walk outlets located near the Wave Garage offer a variety of eating and shopping options. Make sure to check out children’s outlets like Gymboree, The Children’s Place and Toys R Us. For family friendly dining visit Los Amigos, an Atlantic City staple that offers great Mexican food. Other options include Ruby Tuesday and Applebees.
Rain Forest Cafe. The Rainforest Cafe isn’t just a restaurant it is a fun, family friendly experience. Families can dine in a tropical rain forest filled with animatronic animals, an erupting volcano and thunderstorms. The Rain Forest Cafe is conveniently located on the Atlantic City boardwalk and is in walking distance of The Pier at Caesars and Boardwalk Hall.
Miss America at the Sheraton. Did you know that the Sheraton Casino Hotel in Atlantic City is themed after the Miss America Pageant? If you visit the Sheraton Casino Hotel in Atlantic City you can view displays of dresses and shoes from previous years pageants, along with photo collections and recreations of the pageants original golden mermaid trophy. You can also view the gown worn by this year’s Miss America, which arrives about 3 weeks after the pageant ends.
Climb a Lighthouse. The Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey at 228 steps, it is also one of the oldest lighthouses in the country. Parking at the Absecon Lighthouse is free and admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children. This October the Absecon Lighthouse is offering haunted lighthouse tours for an additional cost.
