Vote for the Jersey Family Fun Logo

Do you have tasks on a mental to-do list? Tasks that seem so large, you can’t put it down on paper, because you almost don’t know where to start.  That’s what the logo for Jersey Family Fun has been.  In a way, it’s been a year and a half in the making.  Always there on my mind, but not quite at the top. Not because I didn’t want it, but because I wanted it to be just right and that’s not easy.

Twice before, I came very close to having one. Almost a year ago, I won a prize to have my logo created by another blogger. But try as we could she just couldn’t quite get the vision I had in mind. I am very particular. Every detail matters. So I gave up… for the time being.

Then, I spent hours,  days, finding images and trying to create something, on my laptop.   The laptop was hacked into…my files were gone… and so were the potential Jersey Family Fun logo mockups.

One day, when I least expected it, I found the perfect person to work with on my logo. Hilary Morris, of Hilary Morris Public Relations, belonged to a networking group I was part of. She was helping to create a logo for them and I was blown away by her skills.  I knew I needed her help. Thankfully, she agreed.  But not only did Hilary agree; she saw my vision. We looked over several different images. She tweaked, tried this and that. She went back to the drawing board over and over. She was patient with me. Helping me find the perfect logo that would speak to what Jersey Family Fun is and where we want to go.  Who could ask for more? Don’t we all want a business that cares that much about our happiness? If you agree, please take a moment to go like her Facebook page or follow her on Twitter. Let’s let the world see the difference great service makes.

Hilary is so great at what she’s does that she’s created a problem for me…two great logos for Jersey Family Fun.

How does a blogger decide?

She goes to her fans and her readers. Because without you, there would be no Jersey Family Fun. I am especially grateful to all of you. You continue to make us grow by sharing us with other families and we thank you for that.

We would love to know what you think.

Our two potential Jersey Family Fun logos are below. (Yes, you will see a waterfront on them. That will not be there when the logo is finalized.) Take a look at both. Then, in the comments below, tell us which one you like better and why. In a couple of days, we’ll count up the votes and consider carefully the feedback each of you have left us. Then, we’ll reveal what we’ve picked. Thank you so much for your help.

I love the color of the second. It captures the eye best.

  2. I love them both, but, like others said, I like the color on the 2nd one. If you put the design of the first one on the 2nd, that would look fantastic!

  3. DarlaNo Gravatar says:

Definitely the second one. The colors are important. The car makes sense, because you spend life in the car with kids. The first one loks too polished, too corporate, less fun. Good luck with your decision!

    This was TOUGH!
After sitting here looking over and over, I am voting for the second one. It is oh so close though.

I live the clean lines on the first. I like how it is simple, direct, family oriented looking.
The second one I think encompasses more of what I see when I look around your site though.

Even though some people may take the car as an implication that you are leaving New Jersey, I actually think it looks more fun and festive.

If the first one had color, I am not 100% sure my decision would be the same though.

This is a tough one! They’re both great! I’m drawn to the color of the second one, but love the simplicity of the first one. I agree with everyone who said the images should be reversed on the first one – I think the lines it would create draw you INTO the words “Jersey Family Fun”. Maybe if you could add the color scheme of the second to the design of the first? (Don’t know how helpful this is…good luck with your decision!)

  6. JenNo Gravatar says:

I vote for the first one. Although the colors are nice in the second, it makes me think you have to travel to enjoy New Jersey when the point of the blog is to enjoy the state around you.

  7. I like clean design so I like the first one. It looks more professional in my opinion.

  8. Donald WallsNo Gravatar says:

I pick 1st one, but i would also reverse images. They both look great.

  9. DonNo Gravatar says:

I like them both, but i pick the 1st option. I would also swap images! Just a mans point of view!

  10. I prefer the second one because of the colors. It makes the logo look fun! But, I’m not liking the font. It just doesn’t fit in with the fun theme. You don’t need anything exciting, just something with a bit more pizzazz.

  11. I think I like # 2 the best too. Maybe I would change my mind if #1 had some color.
    Tough choice!

  12. I prefer the top logo. It shows a family having fun. I think if the font was in a ‘happy’ colors, it would be more appealing.

The bottom one reminds me of a road trip that kids might dread. Also it makes me think of a family trying to escape NJ, though it is whimsical. This is only because of the luggage on top of the car. Also, no one is wearing a seatbelt, and there’s a small kid sitting in the front. I know, I’m too ‘observant’ (code for nitpicker).

WOW…these are both such great options but I have to choose the 2nd. I think it embodies the idea and concept of what your magazine is all about. Kudos to HMPR!

  14. Tari CNo Gravatar says:

I like the second one. It shows the whole family going somewhere together; I think that speaks volumes for the things readers can find on your site.

  15. JanieNo Gravatar says:

I love the simplicity of the first one and the fact that it will look good at a variety of sizes. The second one is fun and colorful, which also appeals to me a lot.

I think, however, the first one nudges out the second for me….so a vote for the first one.

  16. The 2nd one, hands down! JMHO tho!

  17. c2cmomNo Gravatar says:

Nice! I like the second one best – colorful, engaging and family-friendly.

  18. AmyNo Gravatar says:

I LOVE the 2nd one too…It is bright, fun & inviting!

  19. SarahNo Gravatar says:

I love the second one as well, its bright and colorful and in my opinion more inviting for kids and families!

  20. Julie BoufNo Gravatar says:

The graphic is great on both, but I definately prefer the color in the second choice.

  21. TerriNo Gravatar says:

I’m a sucker for bright colors so I must go with the second one. I also think the second one will help rid the notion of “Dirty Jersey” and remind people that we are the Garden state. It also attracts more attention and seems as though it is much more fun travel around the state.

The first one is nice too but I think it won’t stand out as much. However, I really like the swinging kid and parent on the right side of the first logo.

  22. kim kopeckyNo Gravatar says:

the 2nd one hands down! more eye catching

  23. I like both, but the second one is more fun!

  24. CarolNo Gravatar says:

After a lot of thought, I like the black & white version – clean, simple, pictures say “family” and “fun” clearly (& they’re not learning the town/ state for the fun)

Think I would reverse the male & female images so they are facing INTO the logo & text – just saying…. Are you sorry you asked?

You could use a colored background if you need/ want more impact???

  25. CrystalNo Gravatar says:

I love the second one, i like that it is colorful and show the whole family on the go.
