The Count's Halloween Spooktacular

One place my family and I love to visit is Sesame Place! Between the rides, the shows, and the character meet and greets, there is always something for everyone. In the past, we have always visited Sesame Place over the summer, but this weekend, we had the opportunity to visit The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular, and it was AMAZING!

As soon as we started walking toward the front gates for The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular, we noticed all of the great Halloween decorations adorning the walkways into the park. Sesame Place really goes all out to decorate for the holidays! There were several areas all over the park to stop for the perfect family fall photo, complete with hay bales, pumpkins, and all things Halloween! All of the Sesame Place shows took on a new theme for the season, including “Who Said Boo”, a show featuring Elmo, Abby, Zoe, Telly and Cookie Monster, who are on their way to a Halloween Party at the Count’s Castle when a mystery arises!

We also enjoyed the “Not Too Spooky Howl-O-Ween Radio Show” at Abby’s Paradise Theater during The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular. Our favorite part of the show which included singing, dancing, science experiments and magic, was definitely Elmo’s rendition of “Thriller”!

Finally, Elmo the Musical, Live at Sesame Place, Halloween edition, included Elmo and his pals planning for Halloween and trick or treating, as well as Elmo working on his magic skills! The audience always becomes part of the show in this indoor theater!

My kids really enjoyed the special Halloween attractions during The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular that were new for the fall! We rode a hayride with Baby Bear, which was the highlight of my son’s day by far! We also had the chance to go through Abby Cadabby’s Magical Halloween Maze, which ended with a character meet and greet as well as a trick or treat station. My older kids liked trick or treating through Sesame Place the best.

When we arrived for the day, we were given a map to point out the trick or treating stations which were spaced out all through the park. As a mom, I especially liked the fact that the stations were not handing out over sugary treats, but instead, offered snack foods like potato chips, cheese doodles, fruit sticks, and pretzels; they even received juice boxes from one station. Not only were the treats healthier than the usual candy bar or lollipop, they saved me money in the course of the day because my kids had snacks handy and never even asked for anything extra!

Another seasonal attraction at The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular we all enjoyed was Ernie’s Rubber Duckie Costume Party, a non-stop disco party, where the kids could dance the day away! The Neighborhood Halloween Street Party Parade was also a lot of fun! We all got a kick out of seeing the Sesame Street monsters dressed in their Halloween costumes.
