July 4th we had the exciting pleasure of seeing the Atlantic City Duality show during its premiere. Not only was it a thrill to see something so cool come to our area, but it was even more fun seeing the kids’ reaction to the show. See below for one seven-year-olds.
Duality keeps your eyes glued to Boardwalk Hall with so many 3D effects, colorful images, and more, that you might have missed the fact that there are 5 different acts. We’ve got the highlights for you below so next time you see the show, you won’t miss a thing.
The 5 Acts of Duality
Act One – 2 minutes
Cracks in the building, blocks pop out, and it looks like the facade of Boardwalk Hall is crumbling to reveal a different look to this historic building.
Watch for not just building bricks that appear to fall, but also words that pop off the building and seem to fly through the air.
Act Two – 2 minutes
Geometric shapes and colors show off the intricate architecture of Boardwalk Hall and ignite both parts of your brain in a battle between the rational and creative.
Watch for creative colors and shapes that make you feel like you are underwater.
Act Three – 2 minutes
In Act Three you will find more geometric shapes but also a tribute to Thomas Edison’s invention and Newton’s Cradle.
Watch for two Atlantic City seagulls roosting between the curved tops of the column. Catch them before they fly away and disappear.
Act Four – 1 minute
A theatre curtain appears to fall on Boardwalk Hall and it’s almost like you are seeing a stage scene inside Boardwalk Hall or one of the many casinos. For me, it reminded me of all the great performances I have seen in Atlantic City over the last 20+ years.
Watch for images that represent the famous Boardwalk Hall Auditorium Organ, the largest pipe organ in the world.
Act Five – 1 minute
When the curtain falls, the effect is spectacular. The show ends with a minute-long colorful crescendo that leaves viewers excited about this new show and the direction Atlantic City is heading.
Watch for a finale of beautiful colors and images.
