Spa Week is Mommy’s Spring Break

Posted on: April 10th, 2012 by Jennifer A.

Were your kids on Spring Break last week?

Or is it this week?

When does mommy get her Spring Break?

Well, actually mommies get their Spring Break next week during Spa Week. After all, don’t you deserve it? Having the kids home for a few days, when you maybe used to peace and quite can be tough.  Or even if you love it, it’s tiring and you deserve a break. So when as a mom on the Hot Mom Spa Squad, I was invited to a treatment, I jumped at the chance.

Spa Week 2012, April 16 – 22, is all about giving moms that break they need and at a price that they won’t have to feel guilty about.  For just $50 you can enjoy spa treatments at salons throughout New Jersey. Take a look at the list here.

Now while there are at least 50 participating salons in New Jersey, the one we love the best is the Haven Day Spa in Sewell, New Jersey.

When the Haven Day Spa says you will enter a ‘realm of calm and tranquility’, they aren’t kidding. They are serious about relaxation. Take a look at the experience room, that visitors experience while waiting for their treatment.

My first tweets, from this room, were how I was in a Heaven. While I love my 3 boys, it’s rare that I get to experience the peace that I found in this room and throughout the Haven Day Spa.

I was greeted by a lovely representative. She offered me a drink and a heated neck wrap. Ahhh, I could have stayed in this room all night.  It was only moments before, I was brought back to enjoy my treatment.

During Spa Week 2012 Haven Day Spa is offering these 3 treatments for $50 each.

Never having experienced a professional massage and feeling a little nervous about it, I went for the 90 Minute Basic Manicure and Tropical Escape Pedicure.  (I later learned that Haven Day Spa only has female masseuses on staff and that the rooms are very private.)

Elaine brought me back for my manicure and from that point on I don’t think I was allowed to lift a finger, no really. Even when it came time for my pedicure (more about that later) Elaine took off my shoes and tucked them away in a bag for me to bring home.  I looked at the selection of nail colors in awe. There were so many to choose from.  I rarely do my nails. I am just so active I can’t seem to keep polish on for a few days. So having my nails done and so many colors to choose from, was quite a treat.  With my color picked out and my neck hugged in warmth and relaxing aromas, all I had to do was relax. Ahhh and that I did. Elaine took great care with my nails making them look so pretty.

I was impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail. Not only does the Haven Day Spa using new files and emery boards for each client, but Elaine had a special trick for getting rid of stray polish marks.

My feet covered in Marshmallow Scrub

When it was time for the pedicure, Elaine refreshed my neck wrap and then smell a palette of creams and scrubs she would use on my feet. There were yummy smells of marshmallows and other sweets, it was like dessert for my feet. My feet soaked, they were massaged, they soaked again. I may not remember the process step by step or the exact names of the lotions but I remember the relaxation the peacefulness.  It was great and just what every mom needs.

I might add, that when it was time to leave, I was not rushed out the door. I was encouraged to stay and linger for as long as I like, back in that experience room.  Again, it was heavenly and I encourage you, when your children’s Spring Break is done, give yourself a break during Spa Week.
