Sahl's Father Son Farm Corn MazeMonday, September 23rd, it was the second day of Fall and opening day at Sahl’s Father Son Farm. Fall is one of my favorite times of year and a trip to the farm was the perfect way to start the season.

I had never been to Sahl’s before but my husband was familiar with their corn mazes that every year feature a different design. This year’s corn maze is in the shape of The Battleship New Jersey.

We started our evening with some fun pictures in the farm themed photo back drops. Then, it was off to the Kiddie Koral to play in the hay. The Kiddie Koral featured a tunnel to crawl through, a hay jump and a sand pile. The staff was nice enough to inform us that there were sand toys to play with in the shed.  The Kiddie Koral was enough to keep my son happy for hours but there was so much more to explore!

Like the Rubber Duck Races which are not to be missed. Using an old-fashion water pump kids can race ducks down a track. This is endless fun for little kids and, trust me parents, it will be hard to pull them away from this attraction.

Next, we ventured into the Corn Maze which offers three levels of difficulty to choose from: City Slickers, Redneck Challenge and Hillbilly Mayhem. I wanted to be a city slicker but my husband went with the Hillbilly. If you are on the farm with a toddler or someone with the attention span of a toddler I suggest you go the city slicker route.

Then, it was also time for the pig races. The two pigs that raced, Gunner and Spotter, are named to go along with this year’s maze theme of The Battleship New Jersey.  The pigs ran three races and the kids where able to pick which team to cheer for.

To end our trip we took a hayride as the sun started to set out to the pumpkin patch. Sahl’s pumpkin patch is huge and offers pumpkins in a variety of sizes. Pumpkins cost anywhere between $2 and $12. We picked our pumpkin and then road back to the farm. As we were leaving my son said good night to the pigs.
